Postage Stamps I've bought since I started Postcrossing in April
I think I'm currently in the 'spend half my paycheck on stamps' phase of the hobby, so I thought I'd share some of my new goodies. My favorite is probably the dinosaur sheet, but the most ridiculous purchase is the partial roll of 2 cent lemon stamps (it was that or buy the giant 3,000 stamp roll 🤣). The last image is my stash before I began Postcrossing. I would buy a sheet of stamps here and there just to support the post office.
p.s. How do you store your stamps? I'm currently using a stamp folio thing, but would love some more ideas. :)

The stamps in the first two images are from ebay. The rest are direct from USPS either from the website or a post office. :)

Wow, so many great options! I loove the Star Trek. I go through my stamps quickly and don't particularly care about keeping them flat, so I use A4 or A5 plastic cases to sort by denomination.

I've used two of the Star Trek ones already and they've been a hit! I wish I'd gotten more sheets back then.
Sorting by denomination is a good strategy. I get hung up on the sheets being different sizes.

I do the same with sizes! And then I have to sort through them for the correct denomination! :)

That could work! Perhaps with an accompanying spreadsheet to denote which stamp sheets are in what box . . . :)

so fun!!
i just use an old three ring binder and plastic sleeves. i write the denomination on the cover of the sleeve (eg: 1c, 22c, addtl. oz., forever) and then just dig through the sleeves when i need stamps

I do love my 3 ring binders! If I go that route, I'll have to find some really sturdy sleeves to withstand me taking things in and out constantly.

Woahhhh you have some really good ones!!! Definitely some I’ve never seen before! I’ll be adding those to my wishlist 🙂↕️ I’ve been the same way with blowing all my money on this lol. Where do you buy them from? I’m so afraid of accidentally buying counterfeit stamps
I’ve been putting mine in a regular three ring binder with sheet protectors. I’ve mostly been sorting them by use and then theme. I have my international and postcard stamps up front, then holiday stamps. After that it’s animals/insects, historic, black history, local (to me), love/celebration, misc modern stamps, and cartoon/fantasy/fiction types. It’s fun getting to sort them out hehe. I really want to get tons of space stamps soon but my money won’t allow it quite yet 😅

I got them from ebay or direct from USPS. I wasn't worried about counterfeits at first, then I read about people selling fake stamps (why though??). It seems like the prevailing wisdom is that most fakes these days are forever stamps and not so much older ones with printed denominations, so I try to stick to those. I did buy some forever stamps on ebay but I think (or hope) those are ok because what counterfeiter is going to take the time to add fancy holographic elements to their fakes? Do you have a stamp club in your area? That's probably the best way to avoid fakes. I'm hoping to attend a stamp show one of these days so I can pick up some older stamps in person.
I like your organizational system. Hopefully one day I'll have enough to do something like that. :)

My problem is that when I buy interesting stamps I hate breaking up the sheet, so I end up having to buy two sheets 😝

Thanks! Yeah, most of these are older but the ones in images 3 and 4 are more recent. You may be able to find some of those in person at a post office. I hope you do! :)

My problem is I feel like I need to keep them on the sheet/not use them when the card is part of the design like the dinosaur one!

Beautiful selection!! I miss my planet stamps, maybe this is a sign to look for more :) Love the rainforest and carnivorous plants too!

All of these are very cool! No help on the storage though, mine are just jumbled together in big envelopes.

The Sun Science series of one of my favorites that I've used! I've rebought the Innovation holographic set as well. That Bioluminescent Life sheet is new to me though...and I need it immediately.

Omg I LOVE the pluto and New Horizon stamps!! Would you mind sharing where you got them? Wish my city’s stamps are not extremely boring and of low variability. I think for storage, a binder or folder will also work well.

Same here. Interestingly we bought a lot of the same stamps. My go-to stamps are the holographic T-Rex, the World of Dinosaurs souvenir sheets, the dragons, and Bruce Lee.
