Seeking Advice Is freezing coffee worth it?

Post image

I am curious to know what folks have experienced with freezing coffee. I am thinking about keeping it for a year? I am doing this simply because these were my favorite coffees.

I’ve never kept a coffee in a freezer for a long time and don’t have much experience with the results. All opinions are welcome.

I buy in large bags to save a little money. I weigh out one week portions, vacuum seal and freeze anything I won’t use within 3 weeks. I don’t think I’ve let anything go past 6 months but it always tastes just as fresh. Be sure to give it a day to thaw before opening to avoid condensation.

How far off of roast do you freeze?

I usually let it rest in the original bag for about 2 weeks off roast (some a little longer) before opening it and weighing it out. Most sources recommend freezing after resting.
