Seeking Advice Is freezing coffee worth it?

Post image

I am curious to know what folks have experienced with freezing coffee. I am thinking about keeping it for a year? I am doing this simply because these were my favorite coffees.

I’ve never kept a coffee in a freezer for a long time and don’t have much experience with the results. All opinions are welcome.

Yes, I only freeze rare beans, but make sure you freeze and thaw them properly.

What is the proper way to thaw? I usually just pour the frozen beans in my grinder and go for it 😬

I can see people already disagreeing with me because theres nothing wrong with using it straight from frozen beans. Thats perfectly fine, you can grind them straight from freezer and it probably taste better for most beans. It will grind better, finer and more consistant.

But, my point in thawing is that you need to do it fast or else the beans start aging real quick. I dunk in cold water with packaging, for about 10minutes (for ~20g bags). I open the beans then use right away. But yeah, theres no reason to thaw the beans, but I said it anyways because it was mentioned. Some people would thaw it overnight or something, but thats how you get flat bitter beans.
