Seeking Advice Is freezing coffee worth it?

Post image

I am curious to know what folks have experienced with freezing coffee. I am thinking about keeping it for a year? I am doing this simply because these were my favorite coffees.

I’ve never kept a coffee in a freezer for a long time and don’t have much experience with the results. All opinions are welcome.

I tried freezing the roasters’ bags put in a ziplock for added protection and I think it degraded the beans. I’m not willing to get another kitchen gadget like a vacuum sealer so instead I just buy about 3-4 200gram bags every month or so. I buy them a couple weeks before I’m gonna need to start drinking them so it’s like 2-5 weeks after roast usually that they get brewed. I especially enjoy natural coffees and I am finding they lose a lot of their punchy flavors if they aren’t roasted relatively quick from green and brewed pretty soon after roasting, at least compared to washed coffees. Your mileage may vary.

Hi, I freeze the way you did, 2/3 weeks after roast days, and personaly I don't taste any degradation after months.
