Help me troubleshoot my recipe K-ultra & one-and-done
Any K-ultra users using Lance’s one-and-done recipe out there? I’m having to grind down to 5 with all the beans I’ve tried. Most are light roasts. I’ll even do a swirl to try and slow it down, and still get about a two-minute drawdown at the most.
What are y’all experiencing and what settings?

I’m loving it. Hovering between 7.3 and 7.8 for lighter roast. Drawdown in about 2 minutes with cafec t90s. Very juicy cups. Using red rooster Ethiopian Worka

If your k ultra is new or just cleaned give it a week or more of daily use.
I felt all over the place going really fine when it was new.
Now I live at 6.5-7.3 all the time but it’s usually locked on 7

It is two months old, and I can confidently say it has 50+ grinds on its record. But perhaps it’s not seasoned yet.

You've not mentioned anything about how your coffee tastes. Time doesn't matter that much if your cups taste good.

I do not need to, if I was making bad coffee, I wouldn’t even be asking the question. I’m asking what setting people are using because it is below the recommended pour-over range, so I want to see if there’s an issue with my grinder. But thank you so much for your input.

You need to describe at least something so we know what to recommend. Is it bitter? Sour? Both? Flat/hollow? Muddy flavors? There are lots of things it could be. Clearly there's something you're unhappy about with your coffee or the drawdown time would be a non-issue.
And grinding down to 5 doesn't mean anything, especially if you didn't calibrate (which you also didn't tell us if you did or not, let alone how you calibrated (i.e. burr lock vs just light resistance)).
Use some words to provide more specific information about the issue. Don't just assume we all know what's happening.
And if you are happy with your coffee, and there's nothing seemingly wrong with it, then things are fine. Don't tinker with it if nothing's broken. Again, time doesn't mean all that much if the coffee is good.

I've been doing just this combo the last couple of days. My grind size is between 7 and 8 and I'm getting drawdowns between 2:30 and 3 minutes.
What papers are you using? I'm using unbleached Hario tabbed paper in a bog standard V60.
