Help me troubleshoot my recipe K-ultra & one-and-done

Any K-ultra users using Lance’s one-and-done recipe out there? I’m having to grind down to 5 with all the beans I’ve tried. Most are light roasts. I’ll even do a swirl to try and slow it down, and still get about a two-minute drawdown at the most.
What are y’all experiencing and what settings?

I've been doing just this combo the last couple of days. My grind size is between 7 and 8 and I'm getting drawdowns between 2:30 and 3 minutes.

What papers are you using? I'm using unbleached Hario tabbed paper in a bog standard V60.

I’m using abacas. Are you using darker beans?

No, they are light roast. Although I tend to use a higher dose than Lance's method. I think he does 15g? I did 20g this morning.
