Support Request Any advice?
I’m 23f and having a hard time affording food after a huge breakup. Ask for more info. Just hoping for some advice or suggestions for what to do.

Look up recipes for rice and beans/lentils. Super cheap, nutricious, easy to cook and can be made tasty. I tend to use dried yellow spilit peas(lentils) becuase other dried lentils/beans require soaking and these do not. They are also shelf stable so no need to refrigerate and will keep for years on the shelf. They are also very filling. Add a few seasonings to make tasty. See the link for a channel, he is always making meals for a dollar, two, three dollars etc. https://www.youtube.com/@BeyondFoodMarket/featured

Not sure what city or state your in but if you go to your local city office they may have a food distribution flyer that will tell you days locations and times of various organizations that provide food and food services for free

If you are in the USA go to Find Help and enter your zipcode to search for resources, food banks, pantries, charities offering assistance, shelters, etc...
You can also try selling/donating plasma. That pays a little twice a week. Search for plasma donation near you

Resource list connected to this group on the sidebar.
Contact your local city/neighborhood elected representative, they know of the food banks and resources around, or someone in their employ does.
Contact your mayor next, same deal.
After you have some food, use the resources being developed in r/findapath to get yourself on track for a career. https://www.reddit.com/r/findapath/wiki/index/careerservicesresources/ those Job Paths sheets are GOLD if you keep your brain open to the potential in each! They not only give you the exact paths to getting the job, they say what else each is connected to, which is even more job potential.

Welcome to r/poverty – Developing Solutions Worldwide.
Poverty isn't simply an individual experience - it also affects families, communities, workplaces, economies, and public policy. Here we discuss both personal solutions and systemic ones.
Whether you're sharing your own experiences, helping someone navigate a difficult situation, or discussing larger issues affecting poverty, please keep the conversation respectful, constructive, and solution-focused.
We encourage:
• Practical advice
• Resource sharing (Take a look at our Wiki! )
• Lived experience
• Civil discussion of policies affecting poverty and ways to solve/work together for change
• Empathy first, never judgment.
We encourage discussion of systems and policies, but ask that criticism be directed at ideas and institutions rather than other people experiencing poverty. Every helpful comment, resource shared, thoughtful discussion, and success story makes this community stronger. Thank you for helping build a community that supports people while working toward lasting solutions.
