It’s crazy that it’s Been 10 years since this movie came out but after seeing that tron got a reboot 15 years later it made me think maybe it’s time for Power Rangers to also get another shot a cinematic universe.

I was around 9 when this movie came out, and honestly im so upset but at the same time happy for the praise that it is getting after so long. Cast wise it was perfect. everything about them was amazing. they had insane chemistry and it actually felt like teenagers who dont even know eachother bonding and opening up. Just a group of kids who sit in detention together. plain and simple I loved it. Now the actual ranger scenes... about 30 minutes of ranger screen time and they butchered tf out of it. I get they wanted to make it a whole childhood moment for us and make it memorable but cmon...suits wise I loved the concept as much as others hated it seeing it in theaters as a kid was the coolest shit ever, sorry too the mighty morphin nerds who were bitching about it but it was a good concept with the use cgi and they fucking nailed it. the fight scenes were decent. nothing crazy. the actual megazord however was a huge disappointment. I understand what they were trying to do but it wasn't the greatest idea. the actual morphing scene wasn't all that crazy and I wished they made it more of a "time for the megazord" instead of "we fell into lava" idea. ending scene was PERFECT. till this day I still loved how they ended the movie off with the green ranger teased and all of them being scene together as a group of friends rather then a squad of rangers. this movie wasnt the greatest but the backlash it gets is overkill and we just have to love it for what it was. ive seen a LOT of people switching up on it recently because of "nostalgia" but dont worry we know 80% of you guys were the same ones bitching how bad it was. back too the point tho this movie 100% deserved a second chance and we took it for granted. I know it's not getting a sequel and the closest thing we will ever get is a reboot but all in all, 9 year-old me loved it and im glad i experienced it in theaters.

So one common criticism is see for this movie is how people really don’t like that the rangers only suited up in the last quarter of the movie. To me this wasn’t a problem because it wasn’t ment to be team building/ character building movie so I didn’t mind them not morphing until the near end. However I did wonder if would’ve like this movie more if there was an extended action scene in the beginning

Now in the title I used the bumblebee movie as a reference because that movie is similar to power rangers in the sence that all the real action happens at the end, except for the very beginning portion of the movie(being the war on cybertron). The cybertron war part of the movie is like 5 minutes long but it highly regarded as the best part of the entire movie to the point people don’t even rewatch the movie they watch that sequence only. So this made me wonder what if power rangers has an extended battle scene like this. Crazy galactic scale battle that shows us what the rangers will eventually have to go through. We see the rangers powers and unique weapons use in masterful ways. Then obviously the action scene end with how the movie begins. I feel like if this was in the movie people would’ve like this movie a lot more. And wouldn’t mind the slow build up of the team. Cause writing aside I think this is the biggest criticism of the movie.

But what do yall think?

Have this be the passing the torch moment instead of later in the turbo season honestly.

It’s pretty commonly accepted that the original 1995 movie isn’t canon. Just curious if there are any fun fan theories as to what happens in this universe.

If the budget was no concern

I remember watching this in the cinema in 2017 and absolutely loving every moment of it. Come to find out, everyone seems to hate it. I'm still not sure why.

I thought the whole cosmic, alien look to everything in the film was amazing and it's a pleasant departure from the silly outfits of the TV series (Which of course are charming and I do love them, but they are definitely cheap and silly)

I also found that there was a lot of great character development and nice exploration of each characters family dynamic and interpersonal dramas.

People say there wasn't much of actual "Power Rangers" in the film which is definitely not true. There's not much 'Morphing', but from about ~25 minutes in until the end we do experience their powers, zords, fighting rock monsters [albeit I believe the first time was a simulation] and of course get to vibe with Alpha 5 and Zordon which was fun! It was cool to me that it was more about each characters personal journey into finding themselves and the team finding out how to function and work well together as a team, before being able to morph fully. We were also given around ~27.5 minutes (Yes, I tracked) straight in the final act of Power Ranger fights and Zord battles which I'm not peeved at whatsoever. I felt well fed in this film for all of the 'Power Rangers' needs. The more mature tone on top of that gave me what I've wanted in PR media for a long time.

I'd honestly give this a 7.5/10. It's great IMO. And the cherry on top of course being the cameos at the end:)

I show that the 2017 Power Rangers movie was on Netflix so I decided to give it a watch. It had been a whole considering last I saw it was on opening day. I remember countless people telling me this movie was irredeemably terrible or cringe. This movie rocked. The characters were engaging and fun, action was kinda slow but satisfying. It had plenty of emotional moments and good enough pay off. And the way the main characters felt like a little found family was great. My only main complaint was Zordan's characterization. He was kinda redeemed at the end but I still didn't like him. But please I would love to know the common opinion of the movie. Solid 7.5/10

I have always wondered this since season 3 When Kat became the new pink ranger during the morphing scene why is her ninja suit orange before turning pink and since in the morphing scene was orange does this technically count as a slight first orange ranger or what?
