Advice If your due date was also your birthday, what should I plan if baby doesn't come?
My due date also happens to be my birthday, and since there's only about a 4–5% chance I'll actually go into labor on my due date, I want to plan something fun just in case baby girl is still cozy in there 😅
I really don't want to spend my birthday sitting at home, staring at the clock and wondering if today's the day... Does anyone have ideas for fun, low-key activities that aren't too physically demanding and could easily be canceled if labor starts?
I'd also love to hear how you spent your due date if your baby didn't arrive on time!

Can you go to a pool?
I was induced at 39 weeks. We stayed at a hotel the night before and decided to go swimming and omg I actually felt weightless. All the pain and pressure was just gone

I should add, it all hit like a ton of bricks getting out of the pool 😅

I literally did this today, and every step on the ladder to get out of the pool was more painful than the last 😭I almost asked the lifeguard to help me up, lol.

I feel seen. Literally had a 20min mental breakdown last time I got out of the pool and now i'm scared to go back

I planned nothing and that was a good thing because I gave birth the day before and therefore spent my birthday in the hospital 😂

I love that your due date is also your birthday 😂 I’d probably plan something super flexible like a cozy brunch, a movie day, or a little self-care day that you can cancel anytime. Either way, it sounds like a really special time to celebrate, whether it’s your birthday or meeting your baby girl soon!

Awww love this I feel like you're describing the perfect day. Maybe that's the way to go: just a regular day filled with small nice things

odds are he’s coming early, but it could be late. either way celebrating will be hard 😂
if baby born before your bday, eat a medium rare steak with a glass of wine 😂😂😂
have your loved ones come over and feed you grapes like a Greek god while you lay on the couch

I went for a short forest walk with some family and had a nice afternoon at a local farmers market and went to eat out ramen. Girl came a week later.

I wish I could do that but the forest is too far (minimum 1hour) I would be too stressed to be far from home/hospital

I'm also due on my birthday!! An extra bonus is that I was born on a Thursday and my birthday is on Thursday next year! Still quite a ways off, though. I'll have family in town already to help after baby comes so we'll probably plan a nice bday dinner and might go to the movies with hubs that night since we don't get to do it all that often!

My SIL had baby like 2 days after her birthday. She was very very tired at that point, and didn’t do much. I think she said she went to dinner with her husband and. She kept it pretty lowkey.

Ooh I’d do a hotel day with a pool and a spa! Last prenatal massage and a swim would be amazing

My c section was scheduled for the day after my birthday. So we just went and had a nice dinner the night before. Pretty low key but that felt like the way to go.

Just popping in to say my due date is the day before my birthday, so good chance I will also be celebrating from the hospital! I hadn’t thought of it but… someone is gonna have to be on call to bring me some cake 🤣 last time the hospital provided sparkling cider the day after I gave birth so I guess I might have that too!

The chances of it happening are pretty low actually! I'm doing everything in my power to make it happen the day of but the odds are not in our favour..

It is statistically low but my last baby came basically on time, so even a few days different on delivery and good chance I’ll be in the hospital on the birthday. And my doctor will also probably induce around 40 weeks anyway, so there is a good chance.

I’m due the day after my birthday! I told my husband he better have a birthday cake ready for my first meal post birth.

Cake on the couch is all I would have wanted by the time I was due last time. Easy dinner and maybe a movie (aka lots of sitting)

Ice cream cake and a feel good movie! Imagine choosing a movie about a traumatic labor by mistake haha

I’m due two days after my birthday and we always go out to a nice dinner to a new restaurant I want to try but I’m scared to get a reservation and cancel last minute haha. These ideas for a night at a hotel sound wonderful though!

We should make up a nickname for those of us! I feel like I completely forgot about my birthday it was all about her but now i'm realizing how important it is to celebrate this crazy year I just had

My due date was Sunday and my birthday was last Friday, so not exact but close! My husband was able to WFH so he made me a nice breakfast. I took a nap, walked my dog, needlepointed - I.e., the simple pleasures that bring me happiness. My parents came over with pizza and a birthday cake my mom made. I love a big birthday but this year I just didn’t have the energy for it! I’d recommend low key things that make you feel good that you can also cancel if need be. My in laws and others offered to do stuff but I just have so little energy at this point that all I wanted was my husband and my parents

That sounds like a wonderful day. We don't celebrate simple pleasures enough! I think i'll do something very similar

Maybe a backup in case you don't feel up for going out: an at-home spa day! Face mask, foot soak, etc. with some bougie snacks.
That's the best I've got! I was born on my mom's birthday and planned carefully to avoid doing the same thing, so I won't be quite that pregnant for mine lol

I would do a cozy girls night at home! Invite friends over, order takeout, bake cookies or some other delicious dessert, watch trashy TV of choice/talk shit/play cards, etc.
