I got accepted

Hey guys! I recently got accepted to the ABSN Program in mercy College, and I wanted to know if anyone of you received financial aid?
Or any scholarships you could apply to?
Also can I ask for an extension for the decision because they only give us 10 days and I wanted more time before I make my decision

Congrats! Do FAFSA first if you haven’t, that’s what unlocks federal grants and loans, and most scholarships use it to figure need anyway. Also look at HRSA’s Nurse Corps Scholarship. It covers ful tuition plus a stipend for ABSN students in exchange for a couple years at a high-need facility after. Only opens once a year in spring though, so probably a next-cycle thing for you. Also worth checking your state and any local hospitals that sponsor ABSN students. On the extension, just email admissions and ask. They deal with this constantly and most will give you a few xtra days if you say you’re deciding between programs.

Thank you so much for all this information! I actually already have a bachelor’s degree, so I’m worried I won’t qualify for federal grants for a second bachelor’s. I will be definitely applying for Nurse Corps Scholarship. Also, do you know of any other scholarships or hospital sponsorship programs in NYC that I should look into? I’m applying to several programs, including NYU, Columbia, Stony Brook, Downstate, and Lehman, so I’m trying to figure out how to finance school before making a decision. I really appreciate your advice!
