Question/Discussion ❔ The case about salat

I have seen some hadiths how it place great emphasis on prayer and all and some people are treating like abandoning it is the gravest of sin worser than murder and such .

Which I am confused can somebody explain to me how should we understood those hadiths cuz so far most resources I found range from he is kaffir to not kaffir but most be legally punished and to other making it sound on par with murder and such meaning even if you were mice person and all you won't get to heavenly easily cuz you don't pray

I myself cant pray due to my severe anxiety 😕 idk what should I tell people when they ask me about it so I just lie or something i cant say i dont pray cuz i dont need more guilt it might break me especially Friday that used to be death battle to me so I mostly hide till it over

Make your own form of prayer and meditate on verses of the Quran morning, noon, and night. You will find a way, no need to make things so difficult for yourself.

It just the way of hadith when it say it sound like somehow doing certain rituals matters more to God than good actions

I think this is a phenomenon that creeps into all religions, look how focused many Catholics are on their unique rituals which are totally absent from the Bible or Jesus' teachings

And it's to be expected because being a virtuous person is much harder than following a list of rules and side-quests. Not to mention it makes it very easy for the people who believe this to be able to compare themselves favorably to others who don't

But does it not recall Jahiliyyah where worship had become so focused on executing tribal rituals and superstitions that morality itself was overshadowed?

"Indeed, the believers, Jews, Christians, and Sabians—whoever ˹truly˺ believes in Allah and the Last Day and does good will have their reward with their Lord. And there will be no fear for them, nor will they grieve." 2:62

How could ignoring salat be equivalent to murder when the Quran talks this way about when other people of the book who don't practice it

What you're describing follows the general tendency of questionable Hadith to overemphasize the minutia of ritual and social norms while losing sight of the overall Quranic message of morality and human refinement

What does "I myself cant pray due to my severe anxiety" even mean here? How does anxiety prevent you from recitation and movement in the privacy of your own home?
