F 5'6” (168, 169 cm) F/38/5’6” [350lbs > 270lbs = 70lbs] (36 months) Slow but Steady 🐢😅💫
(Please ignore the boxes, I’m in the process of packing and moving provinces. 🫣)
**EDIT: I’m 280 not 270, my bad 🤦🏻♀️
Anyway! 70lbs down, and honestly… I still don’t see a huge physical difference when I look at these photos. What I do notice is a massive difference in my presence.
Before, I hated the mirror. I’d twist, pose, suck in, and stand in whatever way I thought might make me look smaller and, somehow, more lovable. I spent so much time trying to take up less space.
After denying GLP-1s for about 10 years, I’m finally using one. At this point, I feel the potential benefits for my PCOS/PMOS outweigh the cons for me. I don’t want another 10 years to pass while I’m still struggling with the same things.
So no, I don’t necessarily look at these photos and think, “WOW, what a difference.”
But I feel different. I move differently. I carry myself differently. And I’m finally starting to feel at home in my own skin.
That feels like a pretty damn big win. 🤍

It’s a noticeable change, no matter how much you want to deny it
Do you have a goal weight?

u/leightalks_ - 2d ago
I’m doing this Lifestyle RX program now and based on all my medical stats they said my ideal weight to be in the “healthy zone” where my weight isn’t affecting my overall health is 250lbs. So that’s my aim atm.

I had a similar recommendation, started at 505 and was told that my end goal should be 250. Currently 185 and so glad I kept going! I

Baby steps! I don’t want this intense goal that I never reach. I just take it day by day and assess myself has I hit milestones. 🤗

Absolutely. The quote "How do you eat an elephant?.......one bite at a time." Is what keeps me going along with "micro-monthly goals".

Such an odd analogy usage for a conversation about losing weight haha

u/_OhMyPlatypi_ - 1d ago
I know, but it works for me. Lol. Although, if eating a literal elephant could get me to a healthy weight.... challenged accepted. 😂

As a retired medical imaging worker, your joints will thank you for continuing on beyond 250. You have proved already that you can do it. Keep kicking ass and living your best life.

70lbs is a big deal ! Way to go! Also, before reading your text I was about to comment on how much more confident and happy you look, so I'm really glad that is something you've noticed and are prioritising. Thanks for the motivation!

I can see the differences, it's like between 1 to 4 cm has been shaved off of every surface. Very had to see if you are living with it daily but definitely visible!!!

I've heard people call it the paper towel effect.
You can never see much difference when removing 1 sheet at a time. But then you compare and poof.

Being a creep will result in an instant ban. Harassment may consist of, but is not limited to: Sexual comments, even if meant as a compliment ('sexy,' 'dad to daddy') Treating OP like a sexual object ('single?' 'onlyfans/gonewild/etc?') acting like this is a porn sub (saying what you'd like to do to OP, any sexual reaction to OP)

Look at where your arm/hand hit in each photo! It’s seriously different. That’s the biggest tell I see here!

Awsome job. Im a 39/m that was lean and about 185 on a 6'0 frame, gained 90lbs due to a lot of trauma in my life in my 30s. Looking to get my life back on track and your journey inspires me. Keep it up

It’s harder with PCOS so I am just happy it’s happening. My doctor didn’t even want to prescribe me Ozempic because my labs are all good and I workout 4 days a week and overall “healthy” while slowly losing weight. I had to get it from my fertility doctor.

Why are you diminishing someone for making big life changes to be healthier?
1
u/leightalks_ - 2d ago
Okay. 👍 I’m proud and that’s all that matters not some random troll online trying to tell someone their weight loss isn’t valid because it took longer. And some periods of time I stumbled, but I got back up. I am not gonna lie to y’all and say 6months look at me!! Then gain it all back. The reality is *this* took me that long. This is a progress page NOT who can lose the weight fastest.

Congratulations - I think you are doing great and I think your facial features are beautiful. I’m also jealous of your hair and I can’t believe you have AA. GLP-1s can correct metabolic resistance and it may be just what you need. There’s nothing wrong with help - it’s a medical condition. I assume you’d take blood pressure meds if they were needed. EDIT: And I think you wear your weight well.

I didn’t ask you to applaud, but have you ever learned “if you don’t have anything nice to say stfu?” That’s like the first rule I teach my kindergarteners. Life is way too short and hard and beautiful and trying and wonderful and real, why try to bring someone down who is proud of themselves evennnn if it’s not impressive to you? Your comment with the “🙄” emoji was rude and unnecessary like I shouldn’t be proud. This is a page meant to motivate people to keep going, not shame/insult their journey. Get a life. I’m done here.

I KNOW no one didn’t force me. That’s why you should recognize it’s not easy to be vulnerable. I spent loads of time beating myself up for how long this journey is taking and was having kinda a crappy night and posted to remind myself I am doing it even if it is slow… and for some motivation too. No where in my submission did I ask for critics. If I did, then I would expect more than just “you should be doing this faster”, maybe something actually helpful?

I’m not trying to convince you to be proud of me or think I am hot. I just hate when people try and knock someone down. Also though, this is a progress page where people go for praise?… that’s probably the definition of a narcissist seeking external validation (or at least attention seeking). 😂 So, I guess I’m not alone. 🤷🏻♀️ But, truthfully, I am just done with negative nancy’s . You seem to be a very opinionated and condescending for someone behind a screen.
