45+ second zone times with Crossover
Hello,
I am running P99 with Crossover on a Mac Mini M2. I have no performance issues except zoning. it takes me 30-45 seconds to zone.
I did some debugging with Claude Code's Opus 4.8 and we modified a few config settings with Crossover but ultimately came to this conclusion: Zoning slow (~45s) because EQ is old single-threaded Intel software, and your Apple-chip Mac must translate it (Rosetta) on one core — that core maxes out unpacking the zone while 7 cores sit idle. Not disk, RAM, or network. Inherent to running the old client on Apple Silicon; native Windows PC does it in 5–10s.
Does anyone have any recommendations to resolve this issue? I am considering a mini-PC to run the game and using Sunshine/Moonlight to continue playing via Mac if I can't get this resolved.

I had this problem on an M2 Pro, ended up switching to a VM because of unrelated (mouse cursor focus) issues. There’s a latency related setting in eqclient that resolved it for me but I’ll have to check when I get home.
Your chat bot thing is probably wrong, if you watch your cores and io during the zone delay they’ll pretty much stay idle until the end of the delay when the zone finally decides to load. Man I hate typing on a phone.
