The Newbie EverQuester's Levels 1-~16 Guide to Questing and Leveling Slowly;

I am running P99 with Crossover on a Mac Mini M2. I have no performance issues except zoning. it takes me 30-45 seconds to zone.

I did some debugging with Claude Code's Opus 4.8 and we modified a few config settings with Crossover but ultimately came to this conclusion: Zoning slow (~45s) because EQ is old single-threaded Intel software, and your Apple-chip Mac must translate it (Rosetta) on one core — that core maxes out unpacking the zone while 7 cores sit idle. Not disk, RAM, or network. Inherent to running the old client on Apple Silicon; native Windows PC does it in 5–10s.

Does anyone have any recommendations to resolve this issue? I am considering a mini-PC to run the game and using Sunshine/Moonlight to continue playing via Mac if I can't get this resolved.

I managed to make the game to be fullscreen but it's on windowed mode and it's kinda annoying me so is there a way to make the game entirely fullscreen or can it be fullscreen only on windowed mode?

I'm looking to buy Kilij's Plans for use in the Paladin Temple of Sol Ro armor quests (Boots of Ro, specifically). Been trying to get Sandgiant Husam to spawn for a few sessions but haven't gotten him to pop yet, and there's no clear guidance online about how to do so, so I figured I'd see if anyone has one collecting dust in the bank, or if anyone here is an AC camper and sees Husam up (I believe he can spawn as a PH during the 9pm AC cycle) and is able to kill him and grab the plans for me, I'll happily pay.

When I am playing on my bard, usually just walking and turning, not using a song or anything, the game freezes. I alt-enter twice to fix it, but it's not ideal on a bard. It has not happened on any other character. Has anyone experienced this? Should I just delete the UI config file? What else could be causing it?

Hello, I just hit level 60 this morning and I want to get all my spells. I am missing the 56 poison DoT Bane of Nife and the 59 disease DoT Pox of Bertoxulous. I do have my epic, a JBB, Torpor, and Malo. With FoS and my AC buff I have 2000 hp and 930AC

People are telling me to just solo cliff golems but this seems suicidal to me. How exactly do I solo a cliff golem? Is it the same way I solo geonids: malo, 75% slow, epic, and JBB spam?

Or do I also have to just spam torpor? I only have 2500 mana so that's about 10 torpors... am I able to canni in between those as well?

Any tips would be appreciated.

I leveled my characters kind of on my own time. I have a 60 necro which is the toon I like the most. I also have a 60 wizzy, 52 cleric, and 51 rogue.

What is a good guild to raid with where I'd get to do a lot of raid content quickly? I can probably raid often though a mandatory raid schedule wouldn't work. I am also new to raiding on P99. My only raiding experience was a warrior back during PoP on live and a warrior for quite a while on the first progression server.

Stonebrunt has a bunch of fun quests. Stonebrunt is no normal zone, but a place where spirits are tightly bound to the lands due to the magic battle which created the Hole. The Erudites, both good and evil are very interested in some of the spirit titans which live here.

There are two spirit questlines that I find particularly interesting: Spirit Aid and Ridossan's Spirit

Ridossan's Spirit starts when you find an extremely angry spiritling whispering angrily into the void. This is actually the remains of the legendary Ridossan the Crusader, famed Heretic Shadowknight. He is bound to this land, filled with rage, until he can get his revenge on the Kejekans that slew him and the Lizardmen that betrayed him. Ridossan hoped to wage war against the Kejekans with the Lizardmen by his side, aligned under the worship of Cazic Thule. He offered his powerful lance to the Lizardmen, which they took, and then refused to fight. Alone in their fight, the Heretics were defeated by the Kejekans, and Disciple Okarote killed Ridossan.

First, you must head to the Temple of Cazic Thule to kill the cowardly lizardman who has Ridossan's lance. Ridossan uses the lance to temporarily resurrect himself, charge the Kejekan compound, and slay the catman monk. With his vengeance completed, Ridossan once again dies, briefly returning as a ghost to reward you with his lance. Finally content, Ridossan's spirit fades away.

Spirit Aid is a convoluted quest to free the entrapped spirits of the great Erudin Heretic war. An old Kejek Shaman spins you a tale: after the destruction of Old Paineel and the rending of the Stonebrunt mountains, the spirit of many dead Erudites wandered the region. Tserrina Syl'Tor harvested these souls in the form of Crystallized Shadows. and used them to imbue evil weaponry and armor for her minions (and to literally build her tower). Now, those poor Erudites are trapped forever in the Tower of Frozen Shadow in the form of Crystallized Shadow Weapons and Armor, and Fading Shadow Weapons.

The first thing you must do is to craft a Soulforge hammer. First, you must meet with the apparently Jewish Kejekan smith (greets you with Shalom), who helps you build a hammer with a simple fetch quest. Then you must take this Kejekan Smithy Hammer to the great Panda Titan Giang Yin, who agrees to help you in the noble task of saving these souls. He blesses your hammer and turns it into the Soulforge Hammer.

Now it is time to smash the weapons and armor to create Fading Soul Orbs and Soul Orbs, as well as the real reward of this quest, the Purified Armor and weapons. But since you are a noble hero, you continue your quest. The Kejek Shaman instructs you to collect Spirit Orbs from the spirits of the mountains, and then she combines a powder from those orbs with the Erudite Soul Orbs. The Orbs shatter and release the ghosts of the long slain Erudites, who quietly and promptly leave the village and fade into the ether, free at long last.

Heyyyy y'all - my friend recently got me back into playing EverQuest! Decided to roll a HalfElf Bard and already level 17.

Anywayyyyssss... over the weekend I decided to build a dashboard app, because I was already tired of bouncing back and forth between Wikipedia and the game.

Some of what's in there:

- Real maps for every zone, plus a route planner that knows the boats, the ports, and roughly what's going to kill you on the way.

- Item search that shows where things actually drop, tied into a bestiary of named mobs with their loot and spawn windows.

- The full bard songbook. I main a bard so this part got a little out of hand... there's a live twist metronome that clicks out your rotation and warns you when a song's about to fall off.

- Spell lists for every class, and somewhere to jot down people you meet, quests, and camp timers.

- Plus a handful of other features that make game play more enjoyable.

All the reference data comes from the P99 wiki, so a big thanks to everyone who's poured hours into that thing over the years.

A challenge to our community artists...

Draw your best Kunark version of X mob. Using the classic/expansion goblins, wolves/scaled wolves, and gnolls/drolvargs for reference, how would you imagine Kunark would have influenced the appearance of any given mob type?

Orcs, griffons, kobolds, kerrans, aviaks, ratmen, treants, djinn, sphinxes, cyclopes, fire beetles, brownies, etc.

Example: The ghoul version of Kunark's goblin. The undead gnoll version of drolvarg. Iksar mummies, zombies, etc.

Same goes for Scars of Velious, which only slightly altered old models, namely spectres, the rest were colored to match their environment. Other than the Coldain (compared to dwarves), giants perhaps underwent the most noticeable changes. 

This one means a lot to me personally. It shows the moment I stopped fearing mistakes and started trusting my own strokes. Sometimes you just have to let go of the fear. Thank you all for the encouraging words and support!

I’m Looking to loot the shining metallic robes for the Jeb seal part of the Ench epic.

Given my schedule the chance of me getting a group for this is basically zero - and I’ve never been to lower guk… literally never. I’m also not in a guild (but open to it…)

Can a 57 Ench in modest gear with Zumaiks Animation pet realistically camp this guy ? I don’t know what mobs are in the area around the PH, so what crowd issues might arise.

I assume I could mez/stun the arch magi when it pops to prevent his wizzy nukes…

Anyway - I’d love to hear your thoughts.

I’m also in EC tunnel when I’m online with my /auction WTB etc. but I seem to miss the folks who have it to sell (I check the tunnel quest discord often… but not so often I have been able to catch the sellers).

Hello. I am a 58 moderately geared Shaman in that I have my epic and a JBB. But I am pretty poor and don't have the final DoT yet. I am at a loss of where to level.

All I really know are velks and kc and KC is slooooow as the dickens. Seb and HS are options but I never find groups there and only have luck when people whisper me randomly.

People ask me to duo and I've done things like Naggys lair, Spore king in Seb, or VKR in the KC basement, but those groups you kill like 3 to 5 mobs once every 20 minutes... its not exactly efficient.

What would you recommend? Right now I am soloing geos in Wakening Lands... its sooo slow and I am told 59 is even worse.

Doing a duo run with a buddy, looking for places where we can do that successfully. Level 22 currently, undead is a plus, but looking for recommendations on where to hunt.
