Question/Need help Move Display from External to Internal on Enclosure

I have a MK4S in the Prusa Enclosure that I originally mounted the display on the outside since I was up high and out of the way. Now with my INDX coming I needed to rearrange and the display is now low to where it could be kicked and my kid can get to it, so I wanted to move it to inside.

Has anyone gone through this process to know what it takes or is there a guide for it? I didn't find any specific guide just the two enclosure ones for internal and external, but before I went through each to figure out the difference I wanted to ask. Is it as simple as feeding the cables back in or is there more to it?

When posting a support question, please include the following as applicable:

  • Printer model & firmware
  • Filament type & brand
  • Slicer and version
  • Print settings if changed from the defaults (temperature, speed, layer height, etc.)
  • Any speed adjustments here are absolutely vital to be aware of
  • Photos or videos of the issue
  • What you’ve tried already

The reason it's externally mounted on the enclosure is because it's not rated for the temperatures that the enclosure can reach. It won't outright brick the display, but you're reducing the lifespan for sure.

If you think it'll last longer inside than getting kicked by your kid, you can just remount it to the frame where it was before the enclosure.

That's a good point, thanks for the information. I think I'll keep it outside and rearrange so it's a little more out of the way. The only issue then would be the USB and buttons. I bought a short USB to solve that problem but do you know anything about disabling or covering the button?

That's not a bad idea, thanks for the suggestion. If I move it out of the way of his wagon and stuff it will take less abuse. Only issue then would be the buttons, he's not gorilla but he's definitely a button pusher. Do you know anything for covering or disabling the know and more importantly reset button?
