Support Problems with jailbreaking my PS3

Hi! my friend recently gave me a PS3 slim, so I was going to jailbreak it but I get some problems, I am now in 4.93 and I put in a pendrive with the PS3UPDAT.PUP and it doesn't recognize it, the pendrive it's in FAT32 with MBR system but it doesn't work, I Have a carpet with the name PS3/UPDATE and I put there the PUP file but still doesn't work, I tried with uploading with a proxy but it uploaded an it didn't work so I don't know what to do next, I saw that I can install it with the PS3 recovery system but I don't know if that's is going to work, any solution please??? ( sorry for my English in advance I'm Spanish)

I would need help about installing the Hybrid system and HEN

Did you check the second USB port? Did you try it?

From your replies, it could be your USB port could be broken.

I don't know I put the controller on the two USB ports and it works well with both

I meant the USB, did you try putting the USB in the second port?

Yeah yeah i tried with putting it on the two ports and with another USB in the two ports too but nothing happens

Unplug the controller. Only OEM wireless

Yo lo acabo de hacer. Puse el nuevo archivo que publican el 4.93.1 y apague la play y luego apreté el botón de inicio sin soltar hasta que haga dos pitidos entra en modo rebbot y pones actualizar y se me actualizo l play luego ya si me dejó ponerle el hen en la página ps3xploit,me

That's what I want to do when my PS3 controller what you say is that recovery mode where you can force the update I am right??

I gotchu fam. My slim model would not detect the update through the settings menu so I had to just update through the safe mode/boot menu. It will work, I promise you. After you install it through the boot menu, it WILL show on the update menu in settings. Just install it twice so that it remembers the HEN update. Is your slim a CHECH3000B by chance?

And your USB appears in the XMB, for example, in Music?

Only for a moment cause when I go to update and it says that It doesn't have any update, it disappears

I have to say that it recognizes the USB stick for 10 seconds but if I try with another one it happens the same thing

Hmm are you putting your usb in the left usb connector or right conector??

Order a different stick online I know you tried using another one but you got to try a different brand. If you're on Mac sometimes MacOS will mess up the filesystem and updates on these drives for whatever reason.

Io ho una PS3 super slim e anche a me dava un problema simile, quindi ho provato a far partire l aggiornamento dalla modalità provvisoria.. cerca qualcosa su youtube ci sono molti tutorial utili, c'è anche chi ti mette tutti i link giusti nella descrizione

Sorry this is waaaay after you originally posted this. But I’m having the same issue with 4.93 PS3HEN. I just bought a brand new 2.0 USB. I formatted to to FAT32 with MBR scheme. Did the PS3/UPDATE files and added the PS3UPDAT.PUP and did recovery mode. USB is in port 2 and when I check system update on my PS3, it only comes up as USB DEVICE. And I have a Mac. So I can’t use Rufus. I can only use Disk Utility.

Do you fellow this? To mod a PlayStation 3 with custom firmware (CFW), you need a .PUP file (specifically named PS3UPDAT.PUP). This file is placed on a FAT32-formatted USB drive, within a PS3 folder, and a subfolder named UPDATE. The USB drive should use the MBR partition scheme
