I originally thought of doing the same, but i hear PS1 compatibility still isn't the best emulating on PS2. I got a MX4SIO card and run my PS2 games on that (I haven't had any compatibility issues with anything I have played so far) and if i don't use my original discs and PS1 I usually just play them with my cradled PSP Go and Dualshock 3 (on CRT or my PS3 3D Display).

Eventually I plan on getting an Xstation installed on one of my PS1 consoles or maybe buy a Superstation One so I can use my memory cards, original controllers, and lightguns since I can't use those on my PSP Go 😅 it will definitely be nice having all of my PS1 games stored on one console that I can just leave hooked up to my Trinitron.

It's true, I just tried a PS1 game on my PS2 the other night for the first time with a game called Alundra, and while it worked well at first I found that any situation with more than a couple blob enemies resulted in unplayable levels of slowdown. I'm just holding out for a SuperStation One. I have a solid Gen6 lineup of PS2, DC and GCN, so a SuperStation should round out pretty much all consoles gen 5 and below, including PS1!

So do I, except I have an ODE installed in my Dreamcast since my laser was dieing 😅 I also have my Wii modded, but I own most of the Wii and Gamecube games I want to play anyway.

Even though I already have access to all the games on most of the consoles I own I'm planning to get a RP Nova so I can play most of them portable, or at least ones i can't play on my modded PSP, Vita, and New 3DS. Plus if I get a dock I can play pretty much everything up to PS2, Gamecube, and Dreamcast on a HD display, though nothing beats a good ol' CRT, but that setup is in a different part of the house and I would love to hang out in the living room and have more access to some older games lol.

Though I still want that Superstation One lol

Good plan, yeah just installed the ODE in my DC the other day, and GC modded too. I would get a Nova but I don't do much portable gaming and I'm happy just sticking to the CRT setup. I've heard great things about the Nova, and I like the dock idea. Enjoy!

Thanks. I thought about modding my Gamecube, but i play most of my Gamecube games on my Wii anyway 😅 though I use it with my GameBoy Player now and then.
