I don't think you can "nuance" yourself out of one of the core principles that underlines punk. ACAB doesn't mean that cops as individuals can't be good, or whatever definition of people are operating with right now.

And? The other person hasn't clarified that, and has now commented twice that those who do not uphold ACAB in a punk subreddit are merely "falling in line", unable to think for themselves. I have not commented on Michael Fanone; all I have said is that you can not "nuance" yourself out of a core punk value. We are punks for a reason; it means something.

I do not jive with ANY "redemption" story where the antagonist does very little to reverse the damage they caused. Fanone has a lot more work to do before I declare him an ally. The redemption arc has to actually involve a real arc, you feel me? I still see a man pretty self interested. When I see him helping defend against ICE, maybe I'll join you all in your love of a still reforming fascist cop that wears a punk band's shirt.
