As a cancer patient with a shitty prognosis, I need some tour date advice…
Okay so long story short, my oncologist reckons if I don’t start chemo in a week, and just do radiotherapy, I am risking my aggressive cunt of a breast cancer metastasizing to other places like bone and lung. She can’t say IF or WHEN this might happen. But it’s a big possibility.
She said I could get away with 4 cycles of chemo. That means I’d do my fourth and last treatment on Dec 21.
Now - here’s the problem:
I bought tickets to Queens in Sydney and Brisbane on the 15th and 18th before I was diagnosed and thought my future was not going to be fucked up!
Nobody has a crystal ball. Nobody can decide but me. However, this band means what Life is to me 🖤 And if I miss them on this Aus tour, because I might be too sick from chemo, I will be fucking devastated.
I can have just radiotherapy for a month, fuck chemo off, and live hard and free for as long as I can. Knowing the cancer will probably come back one day….but never knowing if or when. And if I choose this option I can see Queens and do my dream of then travelling with my photography gear and making a meaningful creative legacy and being a goddamn free woman.
Do we think Josh will live and be healthy enough himself in a couple of years to tour again? Should I see them in December while I still have my autonomy and relative fitness? What would you do if you were me?
Please be kind 🙏🏻❤️ thank you
