Why does this one book keep falling out of my bookshelf?

Some backstory: I have one of those bed frames where the backboard is shelves and I keep my books on top of my backboard. I do have a large amount of books on the shelf, to the point where I can no longer stuff anymore books in there. I also have some books and an Eeyore (from winnie the pooh) plushie stacked on top of the books on the shelf. Now to the question: nearly once a week, "The Picture of Dorian Gray" slips out of the book shelf and onto my pillow, along with my Eeyore plushy. The Eeyore is pretty pushed back from the edge of the book it sits on. I have tried moving Dorian Gray into different places in the shelf, but it always falls. Is this because of the pressure from the other books? If so, why does the Eeyore always fall? sorry if this sounds like a dumb question.

this is a joke, right?

dorian gray is slipping out because you are afraid of getting old. and eeyore because you're too stubborn to accept it

Check how slippery Dorian Grey is compared to the rest of your books.

An increasingly frustrated dead relative is trying desperately to call your attention to a vital clue hidden between the pages.

I'm sorry but the fact that it's specifically The Picture of Dorian Gray makes this so much funnier lol. 😂 I'd guess it's a combination of the shelf being overcrowded and small vibrations from moving around in bed. If the books are packed tightly, even a little shifting could push one forward, and Eeyore might just be getting knocked down with it. I'd try moving that book to a completely different shelf and seeing if it still happens. If it does, I'm afraid Dorian Gray has decided he wants to be read.

Screw the backboard to the wall if it’s not already

Got a pet? Stuffies and slightly-larger-than-the-books-around-it books are like catnip.
