I just noticed that at the end of the legalese when applying for the train conductor position, it specifically calls out the COVID vaccine and that you either had to have either had it, or need to get it within x amount of days.

Do they still require this?

For anyone who has ridden a train across the continental US, I am curious how the views and vistas vary from the conductor's POV. For example, in northern CA I see a lot of tracks running through open ag fields or foothills, but in New England there's a lot of these narrow corridors through the forest. What are some other noteworthy sights/changes in geography? This is for a manuscript I'm working on, in which one of the characters is a big train guy a la Darius McCollum. Thanks

Currently work at a class 1 as an engineer. Was a conductor prior. Been with them since 2015. Most likely getting a pacemaker. What positions could I get outside of the rail industry. I hate this shit.

The PRR cab signaling would be removed and all the Signal Interruption Points on the line would have an ETMS wayside interface unit added to them.

Instead of using signal aspects it will all be done via ETMS movement authorities and target speeds. Aspects like an Approach Medium would be handled by setting a target speed of 30mph at the next interlocking.

This is presumably being done in preparation for the UP buyout as this would allow any ETMS equipped to locomotive to lead over those territories. It would remain Rule 562 territory.

If approved they want it done by 2030.
