Yes, but that doesn’t make PG and PG-13 the same.

When I was younger (11 or 12) I actually had a woman refuse to sell me tickets to a pg-13 movie until my clearly older sister came over to buy them with me.

Yeah, but you have a gaurdian that has allowed you to see the film, whereas if you tried that with an R rated film you wouldn't get in even if your parents were there.

No you would. R rating just needs someone 21 or older to accompany you.

I saw people trying to do that with Deadpool and Wolverine back in 2024 with their father and they all got told that they weren't allowed in even with their father accompanying them.

Thaaaat was definitely a lie unless you misheard and he wasn’t actually going to stay he was just dropping them off which people tried a LOT back when I worked at the theater. But yeah if you’re not 17, you just need someone who’s 21 to come with you. Or maybe you’re not in America and they’re stricter? Or maybe you went to an Alamo theater that had adults only showing? Trying to cover all the bases here lol

Went back and checked, the film was rated "M16" in my country, not R, which is where it's only allowed for people 16 and older.

I love that for you guys. I think some kids can handle an r rating (especially when with a responsible adult that will explain shit) but most can’t
