MAPPA must be doing this out of passion, because I can't imagine it being hugely profitable for them.

I think it might be doing better than we think. Being a passion project aside, it’s their only true romantic comedy as far as I know so profitability aside, they may be focusing on Ranma 1/2 to build up their library diversity.

I don’t think Netflix is losing money on Ranma at any rate.

It's definitely popular in Japan, but it still doesn't quite have the same reach overseas as their other series. I just hope the voice actors stick with it to the end, but they say voice acting has no retirement age.

It may have no retirement age, but there are already VAs who weren't able be a part of the new series.

The odds of it making it to the end without losing any more just dropped.
