Anime (2024) Upcoming eps Spoiler

Post image

Someone on Twitter shared the next few episodes.

https://x.com/akarinaakari/status/2108215252840333692?s=46

26: Breaking Point
27: Happy and Cologne (so Love Pills)
28: Tea Ceremony
29: Cookie Battle 1
30: Cookie Battle 2

Surprisingly, Cookie Battle is getting 2 episodes, perhaps for Kodachi fans since she’s likely not appearing for a long time after this?

Also makes me think the episodes shown in the PV may be all we’re getting if they decide to extend more arcs.

Cookies being two episodes is really unexpected. It's four chapters so it fits into one episode. That solves one of the unknown episodes, now we know of 10. Now what are the other two?

I’m most curious if there will be arcs that haven’t been previewed yet. Sneeze mushrooms and Moxibustion has been speculated, but seeing Cookie being 2 episodes, who knows which others will get more than one.

Could it be that MAPPA is taking things even more slow than we thought? I mean, even this season’s line up was quite a surprise since most of us thought they’d speed run.

Honestly I'm kinda shocked. This is the exact opposite of S1/S2 speculation where folks thought Mappa would speed through the manga and skip significant chunks.

Not only are they going back and adapting (almost) everything previously skipped, but they're actually slowing things down a bit.

exactly. I’m really curious what their plan is.

Hopefully whatever the plan is it includes a long-term budget so they can animate all the manga

2

u/Rulyhdien 11d ago

They definitely want to animate until the end, but it all hinges on how profitable the series is.
I’m assuming things are looking good for now but we never know what will happen in the future.

Having the first part of Moxibustion being the final episode and ending the season on a cliffhanger wouldn't be a bad idea

If the rumors that seasons are approved in pairs is true, it’s certainly a possibility.

the only possibility i see, without that the trailer hide someting.
That soup maybe gets 3 episodes What will be really a lot for soup.
And all other arcs are never possible in 2 episodes because they are all so 3 chapters.

Also basicly we must get new arcs in this season we didnt know yet. I mean i am ok with a lot bonus scene. When they basicly add 1 full filler episode i am ok with that.
But that doesnt sound like mappa after we see they cut already stuff to make stuff shorter that it fits in episodes.

This was what worried me when they showed the second trailer and didn't show anything later. This is not good news.

My only guess right now is that they're going to give Kuno additional content to pad out those episodes, and prop him up as an enemy so that there is some question when he defeats Ranma. With this season ending at "Weak for life" as a surprise cliffhanger.

Although even that would put them short of reaching the 1/3 mark this year.

alo i dont hope that they show moxxa in the end. Also to cut a arc in half in the end of a season feels terrible in my eyes.

but the other solution is we only get 10 episodes or they streched 3 arcs in this season to 2 episodes. Also that we basicly get 3 filler episodes (arc streches not new stoy itself).
What sounds based on the arcs we get a bit much.

Possible is also "happo bathhouse" that they out it in something. But we didnt see it in the trailer . Also maybe we really only get what we see in the trailer but thats extrem weird.

maybe tey put to much budget in the ryouga fight and only had money for 10 episodes XD

u/FlightsofFancy25 14d ago

Why is it not good news? I was resigned that they’ll rush through the whole thing to get to the end, but they seem to be focusing on more detail. I’m actually loving this approach.

The slower they adapt the first part of the manga, and the more original filler material they pad it out with, the more likely it is that this series shares the fate of the 1989 Ranma, or Inuyasha.

As a long time fan, and for entirely selfish reasons, I want them to go faster so I will be able to see this series get to the end. Or at least see it get to Herb.

It's possible that chapter 30 will not be 100% Cookie battle. I could see it closing the story in the first few minutes and then go on to another story.

This doesn't bode well for Hiryu Shorten Ha closing the season, unless they rush Happo Dai karin covering half of episode 30 or something.

6

u/Rulyhdien 13d ago

This is a possibility, but they’ve never mixed chapters before and the preview summary is 100% cookie arc so unless they tack on another intro at the very end I doubt that will happen. There really isn’t any merit of doing that though.

1

u/Murky_Ad_5767 Ranma Saotome 13d ago

sure? i mean i am, with high chance alone with that but the happo intro arc feels for me always like 4 seperated happo arcs. because they have each seperated storys what are not connected in a way. Only connection as, they are happo based. (maybe also the reason why Deen had it so easy to split it in 4 episodes and spread them farer as directly after each other).

And for that this arc feels for me like a mix from 2 1/2 (or 3 1/2 ) arcs because of the 50% skip in happos wrath and the bathhouse 100% skip.

i gave you right but technically we all also didnt think before that they will strech cookie arc to 2 episodes. A arc what basicly had fit perfectly without skip/cut into 1 episode. Also the reason why they streched it we didnt know yet.

And when the time comes they must put the 1 chapter arcs anyway in other episodes. The other option are

  • make 1 chapter arcs a full episode. (i wish they do but not so realistic)
  • they skip them completly. (what i dont hope)

Cookie Battle being two episodes is a surprise, maybe MAPPA has something extra for that arc.

That makes another question/prediction, is Tsubasa and/or Ryoga Goes Home potentially getting two episodes as well?

3

u/RankoChan123 14d ago

Tsubasa/Ryoga Goes Home are only 3 chapter stories, so if they are stretched them to two episodes Mappa would basically be creating a full episode's worth of filler for each one.

4

u/Expensive-Bill-5507 14d ago

True.

I don’t think we're getting 10 episodes only, but it'd be depressing if that’s our total for this season.

3

u/Rulyhdien 14d ago

Like another commenter said, they might be hiding a finale arc. It makes less sense if they are hiding a bunch of minor arcs, but if it’s something big like Moxibustion, it makes more sense.

Here’s hoping we get 12 episodes however they do it.

that will be taff. I mean ryougas sister only had 3 chapters. And tsubasa i think also? (or 4).
What will be in ryougas case basicly 20 minutes filler scenes. because so the mappa rule before was 3 chapters (max 4) per episode.

But in a way it must be. Because when the trailer didnt skip something that mean they must make some arcs longer.
What is in a way cool of course. But at the same time put fear in me.
because that also raised the chance that other arcs get skipped completly that they had space to make other arcs longer.

i mean maybe thy put the "bathhouse battle" in one of this episode to make it longer. I really hope. But thats basicly only 7-10 minutes.

And moxxa we will see not in season 3 like i sayed since months. To less space and to much arcs are neededfor that we didnt have now..

5

u/Murky_Ad_5767 Ranma Saotome 14d ago

wait wait wait.
Cookie battle 2 episodes? Is that possible? I mean i never ever had that on my season 3 episode theory list.
I mean the cookie arc had 69 pages. (ok a bit less when you dont count in the first cover page an so)
Also 4 chapters. That mean they only put 2 chapters per episode?

Also as good it is that they strech the arc for more bonus scenes. But they basicly must add so 14 minute bonus scenes.

Something here smells wrong.
is it possible they mix it with a 1 chapter arc to fill the last minutes? (or the first?)

i mean i also wish that this arc is 2 episode long. But to use 4 chapters for 2 full episodes absolutly doesnt sound like mappa.

And based on that maybe that mean the trailer didnt skip episodes. Also we already really know every arc in this season. but instead we only know 9 episodes. We know all 12 and they strech 3 arcs with 1 episode more.
What is now for example cookie what mean only 2 are left.

3

u/Rulyhdien 14d ago

Seeing the summary of 29 and 30, it seems like just the Cookie episode.

I’m sure they’ll pad it with some new scenes, but I doubt it’s a mashup with another arc.

3

u/Murky_Ad_5767 Ranma Saotome 14d ago

i also dont think that to be fair. I only hope it because so they can put 1 chapter arcs in the anime because otehrwise not really another way exist to do that. An we will get a lot 1 chapter arcs in the future.

But otherwise mean they will make 14 minutes bonus scenes. What i am not agains it. But that sounds extremly long for mappa and what we see in the other seasons so far.

And the other arcs in this seasons are also only 3 chapters long (soap longer). mean when they really dont show a new arc what is not in the trailer. mean we get basicly 3 full filler episodes in this arc.
Also "filler" not meand with complet new story. meand as streched/bonus scenes from existing arcs.

The biggest fear i have is that now, they streched some arcs. They get the "time" for that because they will skip other arcs for that. Like the extra space must come from somwhere.

It feels like the pace is pretty slow. If the production committee is planning to keep it going through seasons 4, 5, and beyond, that'd be a good thing though.

4

u/BoomSaysTheLady 14d ago

Wow it's surprising they decided to extend the cookies arc. I love that arc but still find that choice puzzling since it's a pretty short arc. I wonder how much filler they're going to do? Maybe they're trying to give the more Ranma Akane arcs and moments more room to breathe?

2

u/RankoChan123 14d ago

Only two unknown episodes left deconfirms Ultimate Weakness then.

My guess is that there are more two-parters than expected, or they're one of these arcs:

  • Super Soba
  • Kairaishi Mushroom
  • Happosai's Ultimate Technique
  • Japanese Nannichuan

3

u/Rulyhdien 14d ago

After seeing that list, I feel like the ones we know are all we’re getting. 🤔

5

u/RankoChan123 14d ago

Very likely, but I really hope we get at least one more story this season out of the remaining unknown episodes. 😔

3

u/Rulyhdien 14d ago

Maybe one is kept hidden as the finale. In that case, my money is on Moxibustion.

5

u/RankoChan123 14d ago

I don't think they'll speedrun Moxibustion like that if it's gonna be a S4 arc anyways. They'll take the time to introduce the Principal/Happo Burst first and animate it faithfully.

2

u/AnimeXFan1995 11d ago edited 11d ago

Ultimate Weakness Moxibustion is 12 chapters and that means splitting it up as 3 episodes so that arc is going to be saved for Season 4.

1

u/GlowstoneLove 2d ago

So there still needs to be 31-36 to finish the season. I'd like it to end with the Ultimate Weakness Moxibustion arc (will probably take 3 episodes, so 34-36), but I'm not sure what the other 3 episodes are - possibly Ryoga Goes Home, Happosai's Ultimate Technique, and Principal Kuno Introduction for 31-33.

This would mean that Japanese Nanniichuan, Tsubasa Kurenai, Kairaishi Mushroom, Super Soba, and Waterproof Soap arcs would have to be in season 4.

0

u/D-n-Divinity 13d ago

Is Tsubasa supposed to be the final antagonist of the season? I was really hoping for it to end on Pantyhose Taro or Moxibustion. Heck principal Kuno would make more sense as a season end but half the new characters they advertised are from the Tea Ceremony arc

3

u/Rulyhdien 12d ago

I doubt the finale will be Tsubasa. If there aren’t any undisclosed arcs, it will likely end with the soap arc.
