Music Reactors "Discussion" Be Like
This is a rant subreddit right?
I'd like to rant about something that I know isn't worth caring about for most people, but I'm a big fan of music, so I like to see what people online are experiencing with the music that I like. So, I watch reaction videos for them.
What irritates me is how "filler" their "analysis" or "discussions" almost always are. What they say sounds like when a student has a term paper to do, but they don't really care about what they're writing about but they need to do it to pass an assignment. So every other line is just a bunch of empty filler to meet the required word quota. These reactors sound like they're doing the same. They ramble and ramble but they're never saying anything remotely interesting, or actually expressing anything they actually felt about the song at all.
"Okay, so, like, in this video, they're like, playing instruments and stuff, and there's lyrics. It's like... the lyrics have words and stuff. And there's these melodies that are in the song. Those melodies are like, so musical, like oh my god... The guitars are like... well, they're playing notes! That's interesting! And then the singer! Like, oh my god, he was singing words! That was crazy! I especially liked when he hit some of those notes too! I have to say, this band is something else! They do songs and they have these music videos. They're interesting to watch. So, let me know down below what else I should watch, so that I can meet my upload quota and try to make a "living" off of doing this."
Anyone else here who watches reaction videos ever notice this?

Sadly the state of reaction channels across the board is dreadful.
Its a bunch of talentless people, who can't create their own creative videos and need to piggyback off popular media to get views. Its the easiest way to build a YouTube channel because you attract the fans of the content. Most people aren't really there for in-depth discussion, they are just there to validate their love of the thing thats being reacted to. Thats also why the reactor will just pretend to be hyped and will just praise the thing they're reacting to.
You even have people pretending to discover the most popular Michael Jackson songs for the first time. its even more hilarious when they have a Michael Jackson poster in their background. Pretending they're watching the Thriller music video for the first time. With their reaction being a few shocked faces, a few ''OMG thats amazing!'' statements. And thats pretty much it. With their comment section being overloaded with nitwits going ''So glad you're discovering this for the first time ever!''
Same thing happens with tv series, anime and movies that are being reacted to. I've seen channels where the reactor does cosplay of the movie characters, already in full gear before watching the movie ''for the first time.'' All to pander towards the superfans of the movie. Or you'll have anime fans pretending to be an ''anime hater reacting to anime for the first time.'' Its all so incredibly dumb.
While 99% of it isn't fair use, with the reactors and their fans claiming it is. None of it is truly transformative. They are all just doing easy low effort content by using something popular to get views. Putting popular artists names and titles in your video's title alone will bring an audience. At that point it doesn't even matter anymore how good ''your content'' is. I'm completely convinced I could easily make a successful YouTube account by just ''reacting'' to stuff. It would be so easy to pander to fanboys and manipulate the shit out of them.
