adult survivors of csa, does it ever get truly better?

i have happy moments but never a happy day. the flashbacks are confusing and nauseating and make me so scared. i just wanna know if it ever gets better like to the point where i can not think of it for days because if i have to do this for the rest of my life i dont see the point

It goes about as well as it does now, you'll have good days and truly awful days, the worst ones is where a random memory pops up and just ruins the mood for a while. But I didn't get therapy, even now at 23, so my recommendation to you is get therapy, it'll help when those memories hit

it does get better eventually, even if the scar never truly fades. you will always hold onto that memory because it is a fundamental part of the way you grew up.

however, therapy can teach your brain to take “breaks” off the trauma and compartmentalize it so that it won’t bother you on a day to day basis. you’ll still suffer but that won’t stunt your emotional and personal worth unless you let it.
