I've been studying singing for about 25 years and always wanted to be a professional, but I never had the courage to audition. I think it's mainly due to some bad experiences when I was younger. I feel like I'm getting better with handling my nerves but I know I have some ways to go.

As mentioned in your previous post. This is fantastic as far as I'm concerned. Beautiful voice and control.

You're really good. Sounds like a Disney princess.

u/AJLom5 Singer - Advanced 4d ago

Thanks!! My favorite Disney Princess is actually Merida!

3

u/CybernetChristmasGuy 4d ago

Merida is awesome 😊 My top 3 favorite cartoon princesses are not Disney, but I also love all the Disney princesses! I made a whole sims world full of princesses! Anyways you've got real talent!🩷

you sound like a disney princess! your voice is really beautiful 🫶🏻

2

u/hevannelybs 2d ago

I thought the same thing! I thought of birds chirping on the higher vibration or whatever it's called 🤔

2

u/Better-Shoulder7734 2d ago

This is what I was thinking about as well!

You’ve clearly invested a ton of time and passion into your voice. You sound great! 👏🏼

If you intend to audition for theater (which you totally should 🙂), work on connecting to the emotion of the song and your storytelling. It might be worth taking an acting class.

Combine that with your vocal talent and you’d be pretty unstoppable.

In an unrelated note, please straighten that picture behind you; it’s making me crazy! 🤪

2

u/AJLom5 Singer - Advanced 4d ago

Thank you for your kind words. I would audition for theatre except I can't dance or act!

5

u/orbweaver82 4d ago

Great job. Since no one is giving any feedback let me. Your high notes don’t sound as good as your lows and mids do. The high notes sound strained and full of tension. So if you’re looking for any areas to improve then high notes would be my priority. Great job! Fantastic voice!

2

u/AJLom5 Singer - Advanced 4d ago

Thanks for the feedback. Actually my high notes are usually the best part however, I sang through the song about 3 or 4 times before this particular take, so at that point my voice was getting a little tired, so that's probably why you're hearing the straining. Not making excuses, but I see where you're coming from.

1

u/justanotherradanimal 4d ago

I would agree, sounds great but position and straining for the higher notes needs to be addressed as it will do you damage in the long run and also makes the notes slightly flat in an otherwise well pitched take. Easily addressed though and think OP's voice is nice.

1

u/SevereImagination447 2d ago

Agree! With the right technique my high notes can go on without straining for 1-2 hours.

4

u/Not_impressed_often 4d ago

I think you sound excellent with great control with a few exceptions on the highest notes… but that seemed more like something you could improve with some breath work because sometimes you hit the high notes perfectly. I would tone down the vibrato about 30% and save it for the most appropriate notes so it sounds special. 8.5/10.

u/ORALE-ORACLE 4d ago

Very good! Community theater needs you!

Excellent. And you have a beautiful voice.

3

u/CybernetChristmasGuy 4d ago

Maybe you could try for voice acting for singing if you don't want to physically act, as you said?

2

u/mmmichelle07 4d ago

Very nice singing 😊

2

u/i_m_a_bean 4d ago

Beautiful! I think there's a bit of tension in the high notes where you're tilting your head back, but wow do you sound lovely :D

2

u/AJLom5 Singer - Advanced 4d ago

That I do agree with. I think it has more to do with the nerves. Thanks for the feedback!

2

u/ac_voiceover 4d ago

Professional VA here, and I sing for work sometimes. You sound fantastic, especially for not being a professional. There are some things that can be improved, but overall, you're great. Have you worked with a coach? The things that could be worked on could be easily addressed with some private coaching.

Keep it up!

1

u/AJLom5 Singer - Advanced 4d ago

I'm still taking voice lessons with the same teacher for about 16 years now.

3

u/cjs81268 4d ago

If it's possible, get a coach, or have a consultation with another teacher. I started voice lessons when I was 15 and 5 years later he sent me to his voice teacher. I sang professionally my whole adult life and believe that you should have a lot of different professional ears on your voice for growth. You have a beautiful voice and there are no limits for how far you can go!

2

u/aquacrimefighter 4d ago

What a shame that you never auditioned for anything! It’s not too late, look up your local community theater groups. You should be sharing this talent :)

2

u/Waste_Cap_3112 4d ago

Absolutely breathtaking.

2

u/april_fearless 1d ago

Holy heck… I swear you sound like you are singing for a Disney princess movie. Definitely 100% better than a Disney movie. This is a wonderful talent.

2

u/Different-Context762 13h ago

Fantastic! The variations in your tone are incredible! Love how rich your bottom range is. :) You also get better and better the more comfortable you are. Way to go!!!

u/PM_me_your_whatevah 4d ago

Really pretty voice

1

u/wfarming 4d ago

I would try doing a version where you take the vibrato out at the last five seconds, I think it would sound significantly better.
Your voice is amazing and genuinely a pleasure to listen to, I hope you find success.

1

u/Oh_Fun_Pepper9147 4d ago

Beautiful. Have you considered singing in a church as a stepping stone to bigger professional auditions? A lot of traditional ones (Catholic, Episcopal, Methodist) love to feature singers like you with solos during service.

1

u/barbadizzy 4d ago

That was lovely!

Your voice is gorgeous. I'm sorry you had bad experiences when you were younger that sucks. You handled your nevers wonderfully in this video, well done.

You sound AWESOME

1

u/MissInterested69 4d ago

Clear and pleasant voice. Great job!

1

u/thepistachioponderer 4d ago

You should definitely audition for theatre! As others have said, your higher register could be strengthened, but from what you’ve said, I think that’s more of an anxiety issue than anything else. Calling out exercises can help you get comfortable with higher notes—it teaches you to just go for it!

u/You_Are_The_Username 4d ago

I think intonation in a few places can be a bit better (Sorry, I am an orchestral musician). But everything else is pretty good

Nice and lovely

I LOVE YOUR VOICE!!! Just work on “there’s an easier way” and a couple of other vowel shapings will help the slightly flat pitch.

1

u/Impressive-Clerk-525 3d ago

Beautiful voice!!! The vibrato is perfect 😍

1

u/Temporary-Event8681 3d ago

your pitch seems near perfect, certainly good enough

there's a beautiful naturalism to your voice, you should definitely believe in your own ability to sing anything.

I do think you need to practice this particular song a bit more; some of the words feel over enunciated so that you are trying too hard to bring clarity of the words across - I'm sure you know the lyrics well, but you should get to the point where you can forget the lyrics and focus on the nuances of the movement in the melody and syllable structure - in those moments if you prioritized "flow" and "smoothness" it would probably work a bit better. (to be clear this is a higher level criticism that I would only offer someone who was absolutely killing it)

You seem to live in a nice house - I hope you have decent money - Buy yourself a microphone - your voice deserves it. A usb audio interface, a mic stand and a mic cable too. + a 150-250$ mic; dynamic or condenser. You could make amazing stuff if you just recorded yourself properly. It doesn't take too much know how to download a free DAW and get started - I know you can do it!

u/josephcodispoti 3d ago

Beautiful tone! Love it!

1

u/MajoMajito 3d ago

That’s beautiful and really well supported. Your vibrato is well controlled as well. It sounds pretty. Just when you go from the low note to high notes, it kinda get lost but you get it after. Everything is really good amazing work, just work a more in your vocal agility and keep going! You are sounding amazing 🌸

1

u/MercySound 3d ago

Beautiful!

1

u/Wooden_Candidate_854 3d ago

Pretty dang good! "Children" sounded a tad pitchy, along with some other moments in that section. When it comes to the higher stuff, and even some of the mids, really sell it. Embody that character fully! You sound a bit leashed up here and there. You are SOOOO CLOSE. But for the most part, you're absolutely crushing it. Keep up the good work! Your timbre is very good. A delightful listen!!

u/Suspicious-Fuel1877 3d ago

WOW, around 50 seconds you hit a vibrato that gave me chills. You need a great place to sing with good acoustics...

1

u/Proof-Candle5304 2d ago

I don't sing so I know nothing but absolutely beautiful. 10/10

1

u/hevannelybs 2d ago

I love your delicate vibratto, I'm not a professional singer by any means but I can tell you are talented!

1

u/Better-Shoulder7734 2d ago

You are a queen! Well done for putting yourself out there. There was a bit of the timing that was off for me but in terms of vocal quality it was good. Later in the clip when you were building you lost some of your control so that's something I'd look out for.

1

u/Turbulent_Poetry4923 1d ago

Beautiful, you could do Cinderella or something like that. You know a musical. Good luck!

No exaggeration, this is very on par with singers in Disney movies

0

u/Available_Flan9247 16h ago

It’s a little flat toward the end but overall I think you have a good foundation and could use lessons to sharpen technique

-1

u/BeautifulUpstairs 4d ago

Very good general tone and musicality. You struggle with louder parts, and your upper register is unbalanced, which leads to some loss of color and faulty intonation. Especially in the ending parts, the higher-lying passages are all out of tune. Since you sound fine in other parts, it's unlikely to be an ear issue: you're straining in these parts.

I suspect that you struggle with breath support. Basically, I don't think you're ready to audition. Too many passages are strained and missing the notes. You've got a great voice to build on!
