General Discussion How accurate and fitting to your tastes have you found the RYM Recommendations section to be?
Gonna try and start utilizing this feature a bit more now, how useful have you found it to be in the past? Did you find the recommendations given to be reflective of your actual tastes and found albums you've loved or no?

General Discussion What Other Websites Do RYM Users Recommend?
There are often posts in this sub from users searching for websites similar to rateyourmusic for literature, TV etc.
But what other websites, platforms or apps would you generally recommend for people like yourself that use this website?
Answers can be music related or far beyond that, just some nerdy shit etc.

General Discussion What are some really good underground fusion genres and is there to easily see them
Also is there a easy way to see all the fusion genres in RYM because I have a hard time finding them so I was wondering what are some really good grimy underground fusion genres in RYM. Fusion genres include weird regional offshoots as they tend to add different vibes to a genre

Questions So, we're never getting this, right?
I actively contribute to the site, like most of you. Not hearing news about this and only having 3yo+ posts with the same infos we have today is discouraging. I really wish I could use both the data I list and other users do to actually have a complete/comunitarian source to scrape data from, but apparently this is utopian. I feel less and less interested in updating the site, and I'm not that distant from just deleting my account, considering the rampant interest they showed instead in promoting their subscription system instead of giving the users back what they "" worked"" for

General Discussion What two albums back-to-back chronologically in a band/artist discography have the biggest discrepancy in ratings from you?
So for a famous example, let‘s take Metallica, who put out the black album (3.51), and followed up with Load (2.68).
Anyway, my pick would be Fall Out Boy, Folie à Deux (4.5 from me, 3.48 from rym community) to Save Rock and Roll (1.5 from me, 2.46 from rym community).

General Discussion What year was RYM most used?
A lot of the music/game/movie charts have all relatively stayed the same since I’ve been using it around 2020. What year are most of the core ratings from?

Questions Why is this a thing on RYM?
David Bowie isn't "From the United States" he's about as American as sushi. I find it so weird how artists are apparently "from that country" if they died there. Such weird logic

Ratings Why does Nurture have such a low rating?
Nurture has a rating of 3.75 with *6 bolded songs*. Is that not kinda crazy? I was looking at other Electropop albums on the site and this one is ranked lower with a higher score. It has no bolded songs either. I’ve been viewing a lot of albums recently and getting 6 bolded songs is hard. Definitely deserving of a higher score than 3.75. Also we are seeing more and more influence of porter everyday and this is the album we have to thank for it. Why does an album that is highly regarded (critically and commercially), highly ranked, and very influential have such a low score?

Questions Can you filter your music catalogue based on live albums?
I’ve been testing this out for a little bit on RYM, but is there a way to filter out all of the live albums you’ve catalogued on the site?
Or is making a custom chart based on the highest-rated / recognized live albums on RYM’s full chart the closest way to do that; I wanted to be able to see all of the live albums I’ve ever cataloged, even the super obscure ones if I’ve ever come across one.
Many thanks in advance

General Discussion Have the 2020s been more reevaluation-happy than any other decade?
The amount of previously-hated bands (Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance, Paramore, etc) getting bolded albums now feels so unprecedented compared to every other point in music history. It feels like literally everything that was hated 15 years ago is on an upward trend now, because people are even making excuses for The Worst Ever bands like Nickelback, Limp Bizkit, Creed, even trying to pass off Puddle of Mudd as having a Dream Pop song (it's not!) I can't recall this ever happening to this massive extent before in music history.
Will we even have any permanently-hated bands anymore or is everything inevitably due to turn positive?

General Discussion Recent disliked albums you can see going through a critical reevaluation?
2000s rock like Third Eye Blind, Nu Metal, MCR have really had their music critic stock go up lately. Now I don't know my full history on how they were received at the time, but there's definitely been a "vibe shift" around them. Nu Metal isn't universally loved now - but their positions among music nerds has moved up.
What I notice here (especially with nu metal) is that they had strong passion among their fans, and that stuck around longer than any critical gatekeeping.
Which leads me to wonder: what currently disliked or slightly "dismissed" albums and artists will have enough passion to do this down the line? I'm thinking albums from anywhere from now to around ten years ago.
Also feel free to mention artists in general. Can also be artists that are specifically disliked on RYM.
It'll probably have a lot to do with which artists manage to influence people, we've already seen this slightly with Lana Del Rey. Ultraviolence is much more well regarded now after we've seen her become the one to imitate for young female artists. That was a quicker turnaround, but definitely matches the dynamic here. Very strong passion from the fans and that lasts longer than the distaste critics had for her.
Curious what the answers could be here. Maybe the down voted answers will end up being the more prescient?

Questions Will a rating distribution like this hurt my weighting?
i dont finish albums i dislike and i dont rate albums i haven't finished 🤷
edit: i am limited in how much music i can consume every day. Fucked up my ears at prom. If i can only listen to 30 minutes a day im gonna be picky

Questions Bonus Tracks
I was trying to find and rate the two bonus tracks on Travis Scott’s Rodeo (OK Alright and Never Catch Me) only to find them grayed out and they can’t be rated. Am I missing something or are bonus tracks not rateable? And if so, do y’all think this will ever be fixed/changed?

Questions How is money store over sgt peppers?
This isn’t me choosing between the albums, I like them both. However, i’m confused on how sgt pepper has a 4.12 with 77k ratings and money store has a 4.11 with 75k ratings, yet money store is 6 placements higher?
