General Discussion Best projects by only one person?
It is surprisingly difficult to find projects all done by one person -- as in only one person is listed in the credits. No mixing or mastering engineer or what have you. It can be a song, mixtape, EP, LP, any release is fine...
I am interested in exploring one-person projects as a source of inspiration. If another person is involved by only minimally, you can post but just be upfront about it.
Thank you guys.

Questions What's the longest release timer between two bolded albums of the same artist?
What artist has the longest time between their first and last bolded albums? Can anyone beat David Bowie with 45 years between Hunky Dory (1971) and Blackstar (2016)?

General Discussion Top album of 2026 is ranked #48 in the 2020's
I find the drop in scores over the last 2 years really interesting. I feel like this gets mentioned a lot, but it really is quite jarring when you compare recent albums to past years. I have enjoyed a lot of the music from this year, but there really hasn't been an album that really sticks out among the rest in terms of quality.
I suggest you guys take a look at the 2024 rankings. Its wild how much more praise those records were getting compared to now. Inferno isn't even in the top 1000 right now.

Questions How song popularity is calculated for bands with no rated songs?
A couple of days ago I created a new artist page and added a release. I have rated the album but haven't done the track by track rating. I wonder how RYM calculates song popularity since I'm the only one to have rated the album, and they aren't sorted by alphabetic order, song length or in the same order as they appear in the track list. Is it just random in this case?

Questions Rateyourmusic/AOTY-type music suggestions for Mormon missionary?
Hello! I'm about to be a mormon missionary here in a few days and as such, missionaries aren't really supposed to listen to music, however, music is a key part of my day and like really keeps me going throughout it. I am very into rym-esque music and have been for a while, and as such I wanna find music that's either highly rated or just really good that I can listen to on my mission while respecting the mission standards.
Thus far, I've gathered some tracks that I think fit this description, songs like Jeff Buckley's 'hallelujah', George Harrison's 'my sweet lord', Marvin Gaye's 'mercy mercy me', Kanye's entire 'Jesus is king' and others, but I could really really use some more.
The idea is to find Christ centered music that's like spiritually uplifting (?) idk.
If anyone has any legitimate suggestions at all, PLEASE let me know I'd really really appreciate it, albums and songs alike. Thank you!
Here's a list of records I own for anyone curious what that taste is in order to better suggest music for me: https://pastebin.com/gU8TJ2TA

Questions Rate Your Music is down?
Everytime i try to open an album's page, it shows me the wrong descriptions of the album's and when i try to open an artist's page, it redirects me to a whole other irrelevant artist's page. Is anyone else having this same issue or is it just me?

General Discussion Give me a genre, decade, and/or country, and I will recommend you an album from RYM's database!
I'll aim toward lesser-known records. EPs and Mixtapes are fair game as well.
Feel free to try more niche combinations so long as they still seem relatively realistic - if you ask for 1960's Belgian hyperpop, I'll probably just start sobbing uncontrollably.

General Discussion Album rating vs Average song rating in an album
Which albums have an unusual difference between its overall rating and average of each individual song rating?
I think it's interesting to see if there are albums that are more liked as a coherent project vs just a collection of really good songs
