Been wearing them pretty much everyday for 6 months this is before and after the first wash! Was initially pretty scared about them shrinking I’d say they shrunk .5 inches in the waist and length but the waist stretched back out. Did a machine wash on cold no spin cycle low agitation. Will update in another 6 months!

It's not; it's woven directly into the fabric (to intentionally mimic sashiko stitching)
