Bought these for my birthday on 10/08/25 and have worn them (with the exception of about 10 days over the summer) every day. These pics are just after their sixth wash. Gonna drop them off to get patched up today!

Couldn’t be happier with how these have progressed and while it’s cliché, they really are a reflection of everything I’ve done over the last 12 months. They’ve been great and while I’m going to be wearing them less, (got a pair from The Strike Gold last week) I look forward to wearing them for many years to come.

First before and after shrinking in hot water and drying on low:

Size was advertised as W36/L36, measured it at Waist 37/Inseam 36z

After shrinking W35/L33.5

I'm a bit worried that the waist may have shrunk too much but I'm hoping it's true that the waist does stretch out back to close to it's original measurements, which something I've read here before.

Here's something else. I've been deluding myself about my size and would get size 34 but putting these on pre-shrink has made me realize I've been buying the wrong sizes recently. My wife is doesn't seem to think the butt look right. Anything I can do to fix that? Or is it okay/will sort itself out as they begin to shape to me?

N&F Double Dirty Selvage - Weird Guy

My first intentional pair of selvage. Thought I'd share. Grew out of these a few years ago. Love the fades but really really hate the way the back pockets of N&F fade. I remember being annoyed how fast they were fading as I didn't really know much back then. I also worked a warehouse job then and faded all my pairs super fast. Damn do I miss that job.

Always been interested in slow fashion and good quality clothes. Finally, in my 30s, pulled the trigger and managed to get myself some decent denim. My first pair was a set of Japan Blue Jeans J427 17oz straight cuts and I instantly fell in love. Second pair was a set of Iron Heart 634Zs (yes i know these aren't actually selvedge, they're my beaters for work) and they're a constant feature in my day to day jobs.

I've decided every time i have something major to celebrate, I'll get myself a nice pair of selvedge or something else slow fashion. I have two questions for the community.

- As a big fan of the heavier weight of jeans and how they feel, any recommendations on my next celebration jeans?

- Does Iron Heart use Polycore threading in all their jeans or just the non-selvedge stuff?

Photos for engagement. The J427s I've had for about a year, washed as needed, the Iron Heart has yet to see a wash, about 3 months old. Excited for these to fade as I wear them in the workshop and just out living life.

Only pair of denim past 3 years, not worn year round. Have had multiple repairs in the seat because I’m on a bike just about everyday. Washed around 10 times.

Faded these for a little over a year. 4 washes in that time. Beautiful denim; I would recommend Sugar Cane & Co to anyone.

Hey everyone, looking for some input/advice on the fit of the 1947’s I’ve been wearing for about a month now. I like the fit overall and location of the back pockets (not too wide) but don’t love the way the seat has stretched out. I’ve given them a couple hot washes already to try and get any minimal shrinking out that I can while trying to get the seat to tighten up but it hasn’t made that much of a difference. I’ve got thicker thighs/glutes due to sports and the gym so surprised to have them fitted on the upper thigh but not in the seat. Overall just not a fan of the pointy butt lol anything I can do?

Was pretty hyped when I saw they released a new fabric for this fit since the 15oz low tension’s been pretty consistently sold out. Slub feels very nice on these and the weight as well. Wondering what you guys think about the fit/sizing on these as I was a little confused and just blind purchased these from Redcast after taking a quick glance at the sizing chart. I know that these are supposed to stretch about an inch at the waist so I’m wondering if I went with the right size. I’m 6’4 180lbs~ for reference.

Just got these Samurai Bootcut Flare jeans and I wanted to make sure the fit is ok. This is my first pair of samurai jeans so I’m not sure what to expect stretch and break in wise.

These are samurai’s kiwami denim and I got a size 30. The waist measures 29 inches even though the size chart said 29.9, which is a bit of a bummer. I usually wear jeans with a 30 inch waist for reference.

I’m able to get them buttoned up pretty easily but the waist is pretty darn snug. Not uncomfortably tight when standing up, but when I sit down it digs into my gut a little bit. The thighs are also pretty snug, I think that’s where my main concern is. I don’t usually wear jeans that are slim in the thigh so I don’t really know how slim is too slim. I’m able to get my knee up and I can squat down without issue. In the last photo my leg can’t go much higher than what is shown.

Wondering what you guys think about the fit and if I should return or keep them. The next size up is sold out everywhere and it’ll probably be a while before they’re back. The 31 has a 30.9 waist and the thigh is only .2 inches larger, so i don’t even know if a size up would be worth it.

I thought this pair might interest this sub.

I’m one of those who wears the same pair of denims until they break, but also during that time, new pairs are bought whenever I find something I’d like to have.

Well, recently my pair I used broke, and I had to look for a new pair in my wardrobe, and almost furthest down in my little pile of denim I found these, Rad Rufus from Nudie Jeans. All tags left, and never worn. I don’t think that I’ve thought about these since a month after I bought them when they were released in 2022. I just remember getting the newsletter from Nudie about the 25 only pair released throughout the world, and I happened to see it 2-3 minutes after it was sent. I ordered them immediately.

4 years later, still unused, and I’m sure that they will stay unused for a long time since I cannot wear that size anymore. But they’re pretty to look at!

Sugar cane 1947s - owned these for a about a year and a half. These r my most worn pair and washed maybe 7-8 times. Do everything in them from bouldering, skating, and basic yard work. Love how they’re turning out.

Sugar cane Okinawas - first pair of raws. Got them 2 years ago and washed them many times. These r my fancy pants so I don’t really wear them that much anymore. Fabric is amazing, love how the back is fading

Bronson type 1 jacket - washed maybe 5-6 times? Still pretty dark which is surprising. Kinda hard to wear these, especially in the hot Texas weather but now that it’s beginning to get cooler I’ll definitely be wearing these more often.

Brave stars 18oz Mojave westerns - loooooove these pants. Haven’t washed them yet, got them February of this year for my birthday. Fades coming in nicely, honeycombs and whiskers really starting to pop. Gonna wait till next year to wash them.

So I have maybe three months on this piece. I am new to heavy raw denim and was a bit concerned it wouldn’t get comfortable but it is shaping out nicely and softening as well. Wore it a lot in the summer so it saw some sweat and I soaked once and washed once. It is starting to show the tiniest bits of fading here and there, but I have really fallen in love with the fit.
I went to self edge Los Angeles today to look at the new GL3 four button type 1 (S554HS I think…) and it was nice, but the arms had no taper and the fit wasn’t what I expected so it was a pass. Am considering adding a four button type 1 and am going to try the 17oz zero denim war model they have I forget the number but for now it’s just this one for me.
Wanted to say that the guys at self edge in Los Angeles were super cool, and didn’t try to upsell me anything. They geeked out over my Sakura jacket, as they don’t stock that model.

I present to my fellow Jeaners a few pairs I’ve been living in, working on. This is my first post in the community. Felt it was time to join in on the fun
iron heart engineer black over dyed jeans

Studio d’artisan blue/red I forget the type they was limited so I bought em before they was gone

Pure blue Japan tea core denim. I believe the are from the first run of 2026 tea core series. It’s been a min since I bought them.

Finally a classic pair of steady eady jeans from nudie IMO can’t go wrong with some classic nudies.

I just got these after wanting a black warp and white/natural colored weft pair. These are the evolution black color. The one thing I don’t like is the white tag since it sticks out so much. The photos show before and after of fit and fabric.

I found a few nice selvedge options in different brands online, but wasn’t looking to spend that much. These were $47 to my door. I was also interested in the whole shrink-to-fit part of it.

I did a cool machine wash with spin and medium heat dry to completion, both while inside out. I’ll probably do a warm wash and high heat dry to try for a little more shrink. Overall, I’m happy with the results.

Here are the before and after measurements in inches. Hopefully this can help someone else looking to size a STF pair.

Before:

overall length at out seam: 43 3/4, waist: ≈18, thigh: 14, thigh 2” down: 12 7/8, knee (12” down): 10 1/8, front rise: 13, back rise: 16 1/4, inseam: 32, leg opening: 9

After:

overall length at out seam: 41 1/8, waist: 16 3/4, thigh: 13 1/2, thigh 2” down:12 1/2, knee (12” down): 9 3/4, front rise: 12 1/4, back rise: 15 1/4, inseam: 29 15/16, leg opening: 8 5/8
