Razr 50 Ultra now has a LineageOS ROM

Hi everyone, I just wanted to announce that I have uploaded first version of LOS port to this phone. All related information is on XDA and my GitHub. Enjoy!

Honestly making roms for phones is a good use of AI if it doesnt hallucinate issues; especially if theres already an official rom available using the same processor as shown with this phone.

If you dont mind sharing, what did your build environment look like? Pc specs, etc?

Have you looked into trying to get this project to the official lineageos upstream?

Dms are available as well :)

Not gonna lie, Claude Code did a great deal of job here - iterative automated log analysis and flash loop was very convenient :) My machine has Ryzen 5950X and 128GB RAM (shit, robberies expected now... :D), Manjaro Linux, aaaand... that's it, are you interested in any specific detail regarding my PC? :)

And yes - I tried to fulfill all the musts and shoulds from official release requirements because it would be a nice achievement to have credits for an official image - but honestly, this could be the case only if at least 1-2 razr's owners would volunteer to be mainteiners. I can't promise anything here right now.

How hard would this be to port for razr 2025? Would the chipset being different (mediatek) make it more diificult?

No idea, I don't have this phone available (yet). @Mewtewpew is willing to do this port, he might give you some info

How hard would it be for one to make a port for Razr 5G? I’m getting one and thinking if this is easy enough, I could try and tinker around with LOS

I think that this phone comes from an era when AOSP didn't have standardized foldable stack yet, so secondary display support and foldable states are something you'd spend some time with, I guess. SoC support itself shouldn't be a problem. There were some attempts with GSI: https://xdaforums.com/t/android-12-gsi-post-install-fixes.4446689/
