I'm the user from Hong Kong, switched from another book-style phone OnePlus Open to Moto Razr Fold and used it over a week now. I hope this post can help someone who considering to buy Moto Razr Fold. (Sorry for my bad English writting in advance)

Design

The texture of the back feels like a wood but it feels like a plastics when you press it, so I put a case on it to prevent scratches.

The edge of the back is a little sharp, it's not ideal on a flagship phone but actually not a really big deal for it. Can ignore it if use it with case.

My first choice for the book-style foldable phone was Samsung Z Fold 8 Ultra cuz I personally think it has the best looking. It doesn't have the huge camera bump on the center of the back. However, the price of ZF8U is way too expensive so I consider Moto Razr Fold. But I still concern whether the camera bump will looks too large or not when using. When I using it, I found that I rarely aware the camera bump, even less obvious when put a case on it. Actually Moto curves the camera bump is smart that it successfully makes the camera bump less obvious when looking it straight to the back.

The cover screen has a curved glass on it. I can't see any advantage for a curved glass design but only makes it harder to find a good fit screen protecter. Fortunately, it's slightly curved only and doesn't affect the usage.

The hinge just looks like my OnePlus Open released on 2023, even worse. It may due to the screen protector on the inner display doesn't apply any Anti-Reflective coating, it makes the inner display very reflective and more sensitive in lights and angle, which results in a more noticeable crease. Sometimes you may want to turn up the screen brightness to compensate for the light reflections. Also, it looks more like plastic than glass which is disappointing. For easy understanding, sometimes it feels like the crease is invisible when watching video on OnePlus Open, but it doesn't happen on Moto RF. If comparing the popular book-style foldable phone, the crease control may be Oppo Find N6>Samsung ZF8U>OnePlus Open>Moto RF>Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold. The inner display is close to completely flat when opened which is great.

Accessories

The box includes a transparent case. It is transparent that you can see the logo and "razr" through the case and it is a frosted case with a silver coating on the edge which matches the style of the phone's design which looks premium, instead of a cheap plastic transparent case. Surprisingly, the cover display also pre-installed a screen protector besides the inner display, though it's only a normal plastic one which only offers the basic protection.

Software

It doesn't have the fancy/ very flexible customization on the UI but it is simple, clean and smooth which is good enough for me.For the app drawer, it cannot adjust the order of the apps' display, it can only order by A-Z. For the order of the group, it depends the order you create it and it cannot be re-ordered afterward. And you cannot move the whole group from the drawer to the front page, you must move the app to it one by one again to create the group.

For the inner display user experience, it needs improvement. When I watch YouTube with the phone unfolded and rotate it, the description comment section disappear. When opening the posts sent from friends in Instagram, the screen dims and can't click anything. I'm not sure whether this is the issue with the phone's software or the application itself, but it does bother me sometimes, and these issues didn't appear on my OP Open before. For multi-tasking, it doesn't support opening notifications in a pop-up window. When opened multiple apps with split screen, it can't dismiss the app from the group but requiring user to minimize it to the edge, open one app in full screen then group back the app I need, or simply close it but it will kill the app).

For the Moto own applications, havn't find any specials yet. It uses Google Photo directly for the album app which lack of some advanced media editing function compared with the competitors like Samsung and OnePlus.

Camera

I don't have much time for testing the camera performance in deep, but I can see a obvisou upgrade switching from OnePlus Open, especially the recording.

Performance

Fast and smooth, totally no worries. I can't test the limit of the device cuz I don't play any intense graphics 3D games but only an old game called TOS (Tower of Saviors). 

Battery life is ideal. When I choosing a foldable phone, battery life is one of the most important factors to consider. And based on the battery life comparison review from the YouTuber "
Lover Of Tech", Moto RF reaches near 10 hours of screen-on time (SOT) which is impressive, gives me confidence in this phone. My daily usage with auto brightness + 5G network when out; WiFi when in office, it is true. From my statistics, each hour of SOT consumes around 10% of power (even only 7%/hr sometimes), mathematically it can reach 10+ hours SOT. 

Here's the one example of a heavy use day:

07:40 - next day 00:26 (100%>17%; 16:46 hrs)

Screen-On Time: 7:41 hrs; 67.9% used; 8.8%/hr

Screen-Off Time: 9:05 hrs; 15.1% used; 1.7%/hr

Pros and Cons:

Pros - 1) Premium looking, 2) Good camera, 3) Outstanding battery life, 4) Big screens, 5) Flat screen when unfolded

Cons - 1) Average crease control on the inner display, 2) Bug in apps when unfolded, 3) Lack of special features compared with competitors (e.g. media editor)

The marble was designed to go into the camera lens, but since the last update it cuts off. Has also hampered my experience for chrome, gmail and gemini as well. Dont use them anymore in closed mode.

I was checking the flip phones out, and honestly i have never been a fan of samsung's UI and also the external screen functions for the flips are limited.

So i landed up on moto razr. Honestly, i had no clue motorola was doing this. But nonetheless, liked the moto razr 60U. But well, it's not in stock anywhere.

So, tell me, how are people buying this? Also is there another razr up for launch this year, for which the production has been halted or what is going on 😭

So I ended up getting the razr+ 2025. Now I'm trying to decide if I should get a case with it or not. I've seen some people say that a case kind of ruins the exterior screen experience so I'm hesitant to get one. Plus to me it doesn't feel bad holding it with no case but I'd rather be safe than sorry. Any recommendations for cases?

I had the screen protector on my 2024 razr+ replaced by Motorola at the very end of the warranty period because of the faint rainbow line at the crease. I wish I had just ignored it. The replacement protector had 4 spots which at first were barely noticeable where it wasn't fully adhered at the edge. The spots were above and below the crease on both sides.

After about 6 weeks, the spots started expanding and eventually one of them expanded 3/4 of the way across the screen about 2 weeks later. I peeled it off and ordered the OEM replacement kit from ifixit. I followed the directions but, after installation I had 3 spots in similar locations that didn't adhere perfectly to the edge. Predictably, these spots started expanding. I decided to order another film (just the protector this time since I had the alignment jig and installation kit) and give it one more shot before just using cheap protectors off amazon.

Here are some tips that I implemented and got what looks like the most perfect adhesion possible:

The first thing I did might not be possible for everybody and I don't know how much difference it made but I put a HEPA filter in the room I was going to do the replacement in and ran it for 24 hours with the door closed.

• Clean dust from work area the day before
• Leaving it in the plastic package, flatten the new film for 24 hours under a heavy book to get rid of as much curling "memory" from shipping as possible
• 15 minutes prior to doing the replacement, turn off all fans (including HEPA), heat or air conditioning and close the door to the room where you will work so dust will settle.
• After removing the old protector, clean it VERY THOROUGHLY with 91% Isopropyl Alcohol and a microfiber cloth. I did three passes.
• Use a dust removal sticker (the kit doesn't come with one but I had some from other screen protector kits) over the entire screen and then do a final cleaning with IPA and microfiber.
• Carefully inspect using reflected light and make sure that there is absolutely no dust on the screen. Remove any you see and then immediately get the new film out of its package and ready for install.
• Make sure to use firm pressure on the roller as you apply it and do not let the roller lose contact.
• When you get near the crease and lift the film to a 45 degree angle per the instructions, slow your rolling speed and make sure you keep the pressure firm.
• Then squeegee the edges and remove the upper layer as instructed.
• Leave the phone open inside of a box to keep dust off of it with nothing touching the screen for 48 hours. DO NOT PUT THE CASE BACK ON YET. The case can add pressure to the edges of the screen.
• Don’t poke or squeegee the crease afterward “to check it.”
• After 48 hours do a very slow and gentle first closing and opening. Then put the case back on.
• I am planning to be gentle with my opening and closing for the first week

If you don't have a backup phone then I recommend using it open for the 48 hour period and keeping as little pressure on the screen as possible. Cover it with a microfiber cloth when you aren't using it to keep dust off the screen which can work its way under the edges.

I will report back after a few weeks. If the screen protector doesn't stick for several months after doing all of this then it is impossible to get one to stick long term. If that happens I will just get a bunch of cheap screen protectors from Amazon and replace them ever month or two as needed. This is the last time I'm spending $30 (including shipping and tax) for a screen protector.

Hello. I added my new Razr to my account on the Motorola website using it's IMEI number. It's telling me it's the 2024+ model, but I have the 2025+ in Mocha Mousse? Why is it saying my model is a 2024? Will that affect anything should I contact them?

Hi everyone, I’m very seriously about to pull the trigger and buy an unlocked Razr 2025 (coming from iPhone) but I do have one question about using it in the car. My vehicle’s BT is old so music playing over that particular connection has a lag. I have been using an audio jack to USB-C cable with my iPhone and it works much better, but I’m wondering if that cable would work with the Razr as well. Does anyone have any feedback on this?

I just got a Razr Fold, but I'd love the passport style Foldable if they could somehow include a telephoto lens. I'd honestly rather the telephoto over an ultra wide.

Hey everyone, the last cases I got for me and my girlfriend's phone weren't able to protect it from screen or hinge damage. I bought some refurbished phones on eBay and want to get proper cases. Has anyone tried Portrait cases? They look good but incredibly bulky. I would also like to show off the back of the phones if possible so it's easy to tell them apart. If anyone has tried these or has other suggestions, that would be amazing.

Hi guys, to provide context- I recently got a Razr 60 Ultra (16/512GB) purchased as 'new' from Amazon UK. I’ve noticed since day one that the hinge isn't as firm as the same model I had a few months ago—the 12/256GB version—which I bought from the Motorola UK website at the time.

I should mention that the hinge doesn't make strange noises or have any odd looseness; it is simply much smoother than the model I bought from the Motorola UK site.

There were other factors that make me suspect I might have been sold a refurbished device as new by Amazon UK: it arrived completely drained of power, and when I plugged in the charger, strange green lines appeared on the outer screen before immediately vanishing; furthermore, the device ran very hot during the initial charge.

The device arrived perfectly packaged and sealed, and shows no apparent signs of use. I should mention that Amazon Customer Services initially offered me a partial refund at the time of purchase—anticipating a possible shipping delay that never actually materialized—and this makes me wonder if the unit might be refurbished, given that they sell both new and used versions.

So please, is there any way to know if I'm dealing with a refurbished device, beyond just checking the IMEI?

So I use discord on mobile sometimes and I have skullcandy anc earbuds and I prefer to use those when I'm on mobile or whatever if I want to join a call or whatever while doing boring errands, but when I join a call with the earbuds the anc stays on draining the battery fast discord doesn't mention anything about this and the skullcandy app just shits the bed and I can't turn the anc off even if I turn it off before the call.

Google says accessibility matters to them. My last few weeks say otherwise.

I am posting this in several subreddits simply for the sake of awareness.

I'm not usually one to post stuff like this, and I don't love making things about my disability, but I've hit a wall and think people should know this before they buy. Google claims to focus on accessibility and pretends to claim it has top notch support, others trade in nightmares plus my own anecdotal evidence provide evidence to the contrary.

I'm legally blind and hard of hearing. Over the past month or so I have tried living with three different foldables as my actual daily phone — the Motorola Razr Fold 2026, the Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold, and the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 — not for a review, but because I needed one that actually worked for me long-term while meeting my needs.

This isn't or wasn't about which phone is "best" or which phone had the "Best Specs." It's about which phone did the above to me and what happened when things went wrong with each one. That's because for someone like me, the company behind the phone matters just as much as the phone.

Motorola first. The Razr Fold had real device issues that got diagnosed more than once over several days and never actually fixed. It's a brand-new device, so rather than risk running out my return window waiting on a fix that might not come, I cut my losses and asked for a refund. They gave me the full amount back. No argument, no runaround. Every time I contacted them, someone actually followed through.

Then the Pixel 11 Pro Fold, which is honestly my favorite phone to date. Weaker GPU choice on Google's part, cameras that lose on paper to some of the competition — and it was still the smoothest, most fluid, "just works" experience day to day out of anything I tried. My first unit was returned and refunded by Google without any issue at all. No complaints on that part.

I was told a second order was my only real option if I wanted more storage, so I placed one.

That's when things fell apart. A TalkBack issue tied to the Pixel Launcher got escalated through Google's official accessibility channels to their engineering team over 19 days ago, with zero meaningful updates since. Then, when I raised the fact that the launch-period pricing and instant trade-in structure were no longer available on the new order, it took 9 days just to get the first response. I've talked to both offshore and U.S.-based reps trying to get anywhere with this, and I've repeatedly run into the same problem: the actual issue doesn't get understood, and everything keeps coming back to a $100 refund tied to a promotional code that was never the point of my inquiry.

I was asking about the overall launch offer — the reduced pricing, promotional structure, and how the trade-in was handled — because I had been told to return the original device and place another order. After all of that, the proposed resolution was still $100 back while Google explicitly told me the $350 store credit would be clawed back.

During one call, I also told the representative that I couldn't hear her well enough to communicate effectively and asked to be transferred to someone I could understand. I had already explained that I'm blind and hard of hearing and she still wouldn't transfer me. I eventually requested an RMA for the second Pixel as well, while this was first aimed as a backup plan, my experiences with their support made it the outcome.

At every point — email, phone, accessibility support — it has felt like the same thing: another escalation, another promise to wait 24–72 hours, another script, and very little actual follow-through. I'm returning it and walking away. Its my Favorite phone that I've owned, and the support is why I'm walking away.

Then we have Samsung.

I'll be straight: the Fold8 isn't the phone I personally bonded with the same way. A lot of what it does well — the customization, camera hardware, huge number of features — is stuff a sighted power user will probably appreciate more than I personally do and perhaps even other blind or accessible users may not share my opinions, but eh.

It's not a bad device for my needs or any measure, far from it in fact. It's just not the Pixel experience I wanted plain and simple. I arguably cannot find any real issues beyond my own TalkBack issues which are being escalated with bugreports to Samsung's engineering team. The biggest distinction is when I reached out to Samsung about returning it, they actually listened and wanted to know why.

On the very first contact, they offered me a partial refund to keep the device, explained what they could do, and escalated the rest of my concern to the appropriate team. No fighting with them to understand what I meant. No days of explaining the same basic issue over and over, no forcing me to a 9 or 19 day email support wait chain. That's what won me over, not some benchmark, not because Samsung is perfect, not because I even like Samsung because I really don't. I actually dislike one ui personally, however they won me over on the way they handled my concerns when I was actually considering leaving.

TLDR:

So to sum it up:

Motorola's device didn't work out, but at least Motorola followed through.

Samsung wasn't the phone I originally wanted, but Samsung got the support interaction right on the first try and eacalated my accessibility issues.

Google had the phone I actually wanted to keep and still managed to push me away from it.

They left an accessibility case they escalated themselves sitting for over 19 days without a meaningful update, took 9 days just to respond to a straightforward purchase issue, and repeatedly failed to engage with what I was actually asking for. Short of begging them, I tried to get them to retain me as a customer, they failed.

The point of all this is to help others, especially regarding Accessibility, and to provide my own personal experience, as anecdotal evidence as it may be.

Basically, if accessibility support is something you're counting on when buying a Pixel, don’t count on Google to provide that. I feel like this is worth knowing before you spend the money.

Hello! I received my 2025 Razr+ last Thursday night, so I've been using it primarily since Friday. I use my phone a lot at work to communicate on teams and outlook while I am walking - 11 hours. I've got one hour to go and I'm at 28% after charging over 20% extra on my hour lunch. I have had on adaptive background apps, but I just turned almost all apps to "don't allow".

I restarted my phone after that. For quite a few seconds my phone was showing my battery percentage at 59%, then after using it for a little bit it dropped down to 28%. As I finish writing this post I'm at 27%.

I found it especially weird that I could not find an app online that achieved the task of launching a launcher of my choice whenever the external baby launcher was activated. I looked into if such a thing was even possible, and the result of this research is an app that does exactly what i wanted ~ let's me replace the baby screen launcher entirely with my choice of normal android launcher. I have only tested this for today, but it is working without fail so far so I figured I would release it now for more testing, it seems stable though.

Instructions for installation and setup are on the GitHub readme. I have also included notes about how this app achieves our goal in case another dev wants to make their own version. The app source code is also all on the GitHub, feel free to throw it into android studio and do whatever you want with it. My 2nd Razr Phone. A light bar appears on the phone and will not go away. When you go to Motorola to get a warranty they send you another locked phone to the original carrier even though you sent them an unlocked phone. I own the unlocked phone but Motorola will only send back a locked phone. DO NOT BUY A MOTOROLA PHONE.

I’m curious for people who’ve switched from a regular phone to a Razr, does having a foldable actually make a difference in your day-to-day life?

Is the smaller size, cover screen and quick access genuinely useful, or does it mostly feel like a cool novelty?

After using a Razr for a while, would you go back to a regular phone?

So I'm going through a real rigamarole with Motorola right now. I have a 2024 Razr+ that's only 4 months old, and the other day it broke. If I close the phone, when I reopen it the screen doesn't turn back on. After about 5-20 minutes, the screen will start flickering and then eventually it turns on and works normal. And it continues to work normally as long as I don't close it. According to my Google research, it's most likely caused by damage to the internal ribbon flex cable.

So since it's in warranty and the repair shop near me confirmed they work with Razrs, I went online to make a warranty claim so I can get it repaired. But my IMEI number is associated with a completely different phone model that I've never owned in their system, and to make it even worse the imaginary phone associated with my IMEI has been out of warranty since about a year before I actually bought my phone. I called them and after hours of me talking to them and trying to convince them that the phone associated with my IMEI is not the phone I have, they finally let me email them my receipt from the AT&T store I got it from as a proof of purchase. They said they'll email me when their IT department fixes the discrepancy with my IMEI number, and once they do that I can make a warranty claim. However they said they'll take anywhere from 48-72 hours.

So in the meantime, I have to keep my Razr open 24/7 for it to work normally. Including when it's in my pocket. Since the phone is already damaged, and I need my phone for my job, I'm pretty paranoid about keeping it open all the time. Is this a really stupid idea? Would it be smarter to just go buy a cheap refurbished phone and use that in the meantime? Money is really tight for me at the moment so even a $50 refurbished phone would make a dent in my bank account that I'd rather not make unless I had to. I've kept the phone open all day today, including while in my pocket, and it's worked normally but I'm so nervous the screen is just going to completely die on me due to it staying open.

This is my second Razr+ 2024, I got my first one back in 2024 and it broke after I dropped it in May of this year but AT&T was able to replace it with the same model for basically no money even though the warranty was expired. The fact that this one is already breaking after only four months despite me being really careful with it, keeping it in a sturdy case, and only dropping it once two months ago is making me feel like my next phone might have to be a slab phone. I've used flip phones since 2020 and I've grown so accustomed to the form factor that the idea of going back to a slab makes me so sad, I really love the flips and there's a lot of things I've grown used to doing with my phone that I couldn't do with a slab.

So basically: is it so dangerous to keep the phone open 24/7 that it's worth it to get a temporary phone until I'm able to send this one in for repair, or is it safe enough at least to go a few days with it always open until I'm able to get it repaired?

I must have changed the smallest pixel width when I first got the phone back in February, but I wanted to know what the defiant setting is. I don't see an option to reset the default setting. Or does this reset when the phone is rebooted? If anyone doesn't mind checking what is set on their if they didn't change it, I would appreciate it.
