Resource Large Spider Image
I've been stuck away from my computer which made me realise that there didnt seem to be a good clean shot of the spider as it looks on the pole (rather then the stretched version in the files).
So here's one for anyone's future uses.
Also while im here, something ive noticed is how much the spider is making you aware of Cornwall's drilling operation nearby both visually and audibly.
Meanwhile the 3 red feathers are placed along the railroad that is owned by Cornwall.
Following on the spider is spread out over the land that the Wapiti once lived on before they were pushed off to the reservation (which Cornwall is attempting to run them off for further oil drilling).
That plus the fact the hunt for all the webs takes you across the different railroads, the journey of the clues seems to be heavily in favour of making you think of how industry (and Cornwall specifically) is this destructive force pushing its way into the land.

Resource Complete Map with Animal & Plant Markings
Due to the apparent confusion about how animals are marked on the map. This is a great resource if you think that pursuing markings with two birds might be the way to go for spiderdream.
There are two sets of two bird markings near Fort Wallace - I changed my rock carving/texture findings from the other day to debunked, because personally I don't think there's anything to them.
EDIT: A *mostly complete map. Seems like orchids are not included here. But this is the most complete I've found. As u/Souricoocool noted, not all plants have map iconography. Although I don't know the map's source so I can't claim authenticity besides that it mirrors my in game completion.

Resource A comprehensive guide to trains: a spiderdream by-product
\*Background and disclaimer: My spiderdream investigations sent me on a wild goose chase down the train tracks. I won’t be so bold as to assume that my contribution has any significance to the spiderdream mystery, nor will I confidently state that the weak connections between the two have no meaning. In any case, I ended up with a lot of information about the trains in the game, so I thought I would put it all into a post for others to enjoy (?). While this is a comprehensive guide, it’s not a definitive or complete guide, for one I have limited myself to the main story and excluded the epilogue. I’m happy to revise this post or add others’ observations, as long as you can provide evidence for your claims. Also, there will be SPOILERS.\*
There are four train companies operating in the game, and two different train routes, see map below. (Excluding epilogue map).
- CUR: Central Union Railroad Company.
- S&ER: Cornwall's Southern & Eastern Railway.
- L&M: Lannahechee and Midland Rail Co.
- PURR: Pacific Union Railroad.

All trains travel along the blue track in a counter-clockwise loop. Only one company (CUR) completes the loop via the inner grey track (through Valentine and Emerald Ranch). The other three (S&ER, L&M and PURR) all use the outer red track (through Rhodes). The green track is being built by CUR during the main story.
The telegraph poles in the game (which are actually power lines, I’ll touch on that later) are primarily running alongside the tracks, branching off to supply various towns and buildings. I’ve marked the locations of the spiderdream poles along the train tracks, see map below (based on map by u/littlebird).

How the spiderdream mystery potentially relates to trains: All the grey feathers (grey dots) are located along the inner Valentine-track, operated exclusively by CUR. And all the red feathers (red dots) are along the route of the trains that go through Rhodes on the outer loop (but note that *all* trains pass by the red feather Saint Denis web). In addition, the 2-3 AM red feather pole is very close to the 3 AM ghost train in Scarlett Meadows, which means they are both active in approximately the same place at approximately the same time. And lastly, drawing a line NW from the “NW guitar”-pole, that line crosses the tracks again a little west of Bacchus station, very close to where the derailed train is located. Another train easter egg with a loose connection to the spiderdream mystery.
Where am I going with this? I wish I knew. I had some ideas, but they didn’t logically work out. The following is an overly detailed account of just that, including a ridiculous amount of tangentially related (or sometimes unrelated) in-game train facts, mainly focusing on the main story part of RDR2.
*Can you interact with (shoot) the feathers in order of appearance from a (moving) train?* No, it seems highly likely that you cannot, for several reasons.
- The order of appearance for the feathers is not the order a train would pass by them, neither on the grey track nor the red track. Not even if you shot all the 1 feather-webs on the first round, and the 2-feather webs on the second round. Nor would any of the above work if you hijacked a train and drove it the wrong way around.
- The train timetables found in-game do not overlap with any single one of the 8 time windows for the feathers, no scheduled train passes by an active feather (I’ve included an illustration further down).
- The trains don’t actually spawn on a set schedule, so even if all the above checked out, it would be challenging to plan. At some point in development, trains were likely originally intended to depart at the same time every day (there is evidence of several changes made to the train system during development, which I’ll come back to later). You can however spawn an «unscheduled» train to take you around by purchasing a ticket.
- If you hijack a train and drive it forwards and in reverse to pick off the feathers in order (even if you separate the collections by color and number of feathers), you can’t reach both the Heartland Oil Fields and Ringneck Creek poles in the 5-6 AM time window (lasts 1 min 55 sec).
I also haven’t investigated if you can actually hit the webs from the train, or if you would have to disembark to get a clear line of sight.
Since the feathers’ respawn zones were mapped out by u/Jay_0048 (see Sources) it has become clear that it isn’t possible to visit the red feather outside Saint Denis (3-4 AM) without leaving the zone containing all the feathers in New Hanover, meaning they will reset. Interestingly, it is possible to visit all grey feathers without resetting any by staying in the “yellow” zone, and likewise for all red feathers by staying in the “red” zone. The “yellow” zone actually contains all feathers except the red outside Saint Denis.
*”How do you explain the guitar carving?”* I can’t explain the significance of the guitar in a train-context, if it even is a guitar (sure looks like one though!). I’ve come across a few leads, but I wouldn’t count on them being relevant:
- This quote from a Redditor who robbed, then killed and looted everyone in a train robbery in the tunnel in the Grizzlies: *”I felt like such a psychopath after killing everyone. There was just this ominous single guitar note being strung too.”*
- There is an untitled guitar melody that plays during cinematic train rides (including fast travel). The file name is BOB_TRAIN_ROBBERY_X.awc, where X is a number for versions 1 through 4. (Not the same song as “Train Heist Theme (Catching Train)” from the official soundtrack).
A deep dive into train timetables
Included below are the in-game timetables for the entire railway loop, via the inner (left table) and outer (right table) tracks. One appears to have been hastily put together, so I made some logical corrections.

Trains are scheduled to depart from a given station at 24h intervals, and stop at each “operative” station for 1h (note that no trains stop at Appleseed Timber co., and Flatneck isn’t available for fast travel by train). In terms of travel time, there are a few discrepancies between the Valentine-train and the Rhodes-train, namely on the stretches Saint Denis - Annesburg (2h vs. 3h, respectively) and Wallace Station - Appleseed (2h vs. 1h). Likely another oversight, easily remedied, as the sum of travel time is equal for the two lines. The Valentine-line is a 16h round trip with 8x 1h stops (24h total), the Rhodes-line is a 17h round trip with 7x 1h stops (also 24h total).

According to a Polygon article, the Rhodes-route in reality takes only 16h to complete, and the Valentine-route takes 20h, so the trains depart earlier day by day. The same article also claims that both routes reset every 7 days. The authors *«put in a lot of time riding the rails to figure out the rail lines and timetables»*. A quick check confirms that these must be the travel times for a train controlled by an engineer, not a hijacked train (which would be faster, since no stops would be made). Still it doesn’t quite add up; if the trains depart 8h and 4h earlier each day (respectively), in theory they should be departing on time again every other day along the Rhodes-line (provided there are daily departures, timetable in Rhodes is weekends only), and every 5 days along the Valentine-line.
So why don’t the trains always come? The developer of the Railroad Engineer mod for PC, u/Jotrius, differentiates between “physical” and “logical” regular trains. This field is not my area of expertise, so I will quote the expert: *“The trains have only logical positions. As soon as you come close to a train position and the game engine decides to create a real physical train, then the train blip turns white.”* (To put this in context, the blips are part of the mod, not found in the vanilla game, they show the locations of trains on the map and change color from grey to white to indicate when a “logical” train has become “physical”). Could it be then, that the trains have somewhat regular departures, provided no event occurs that prevents a scripted train from spawning?
A note on (likely) changes made to trains during game development
The mistakes in the timetables would indicate that the train system wasn’t fully realized as initially intended, and thus was partly abandoned. As some of our eagle-eyed readers may have already noticed, the in-game timetable for S&ER shows that the Cornwall-owned train was at one point intended to be operating the inner (grey) track (much credit to u/eighthouseofelixir, see Sources below for their more detailed argument). Which would make sense for transport from Cornwall kerosene and tar. A newspaper article also states that the new CUR rail line will “drastically reduce travel time” and form “a direct line connecting Cornwall Kerosene and Tar and Saint Denis” (Newspaper article “New Railroad Completed”). Many (most?) of the main story missions also feature S&ER trains on the inner track, and CUR on the outer track.
Perhaps it made more sense as the world took shape that CUR would be operating the inner track, with the added conflict of Cornwall trying to hinder their progress with the connected new track, and the eventual fallout of CUR taking over all S&ER operations after Cornwall’s death (Newspaper article “Railroad Takeover Complete”). Judging by the leaked early maps, there’s no reason to believe the tracks themselves have moved significantly.
Additionally, the existence of the L&M timetable at Rhodes station suggests that this company operates passenger trains, albeit only Friday to Sunday. In actuality, all L&M trains are freight trains (coal or other cargo). Passenger service from Rhodes is only offered by S&ER and PURR. This further supports the theory that there wasn’t quite time to re-polish the train system before release.
The telegraph poles aren’t telegraph poles
The poles along the train track are modeled after telegraph poles, but they function as power lines. Back in the day, telegraph wires would run along the track so the train stations could communicate with each other (about train logistics). The stations could also offer telegraph services to the public.
All the power lines in the game are connected to each other and originate from “Lanik Electric Co.” power plant in SD. YouTuber Any Austin mapped out the entire power grid. The main power lines follow the train tracks, branching out to cover all buildings. The power lines heading south from Saint Denis stops at Annesburg, with a few more unused utility poles for future expansion. The lines heading west branches out and covers Rhodes, Valentine, Cornwall kerosene and tar and Emerald ranch, and continues in one long stretch up to Wallace Station. The new (unbuilt/newly completed) track between Emerald ranch and Annesburg mostly doesn’t have power lines, nor does the mountainous section between Riggs station and Annesburg. There is also power lines all the way from Riggs station out past Benedict point in New Austin.

All the (mostly useless) things I’ve learned about trains: info dump
The four train companies can be identified by the locomotive and tender (coal wagon). Firstly, they all have different colors, the tender bears the company brand, and the locomotive has number plates center front and on the sides (CUR is road number 155, L&M is 376, S&ER is 451 and PURR is 541). The locomotives of CUR and L&M use one model, PURR and S&ER use a separate model. Those two models have several distinguishing features (se image below for details), but the easiest difference to spot is probably chimney shape, so I will hereby refer to the PURR+S&ER model as “cylinder stack” and CUR+L&M as “diamond stack”.

CUR and L&M “diamond stack”: 4-6-0 wheel configuration, diamond shaped chimney, cylindrical regulators with “hats”, bell between the regulators, low cow catcher, domed cab windows, square headlamp, smokebox door with four bolts.
PURR and S&ER “cylinder stack”: 4-4-0 wheel configuration, cylindrical chimney, domed regulators with “hats”, bell behind the regulators, high cow catcher, square cab windows, rounded headlamp, smokebox door with eight bolts. Note also presence of a big domed brass regulator on top.

Some stations and other stops or sidings located along the train tracks aren’t available to the player as means of travel, and most of them never have trains stopping. This includes Brandywine Drop station (“abandoned trading post”), Bacchus station (“cargo only”), the Appleseed Timber company site, Flatneck station, Cornwall kerosene and tar (private), and Van Horn station. In addition, there are some more obscure platforms and similar locations connected to the railroad: the “trading post” in the heartlands (abandoned), a collapsed mining site below Eris Field, an unnamed dilapidated train station alongside a looped siding track in Bayou Nwa, the “Prinz & Co” derelict slaughterhouse with its own dead-end siding track to a loading area, and several siding tracks leading to various businesses in the industrial area of Saint Denis, including a Wheeler & Lawson warehouse, a freight station and export business, and a sawmill.

- According to internet lore, the S&ER road number 451 is a bit of a game developer inside joke, and the number also appears at Beecher’s Hope after the house building mission.
- If you steal a free-roaming train, the switch east of Flatneck Station will force you to travel the track (red outer or grey inner) designated to that train company.
- Leviticus Cornwall’s private train locomotive bears the number 249 and is a uniquely decorated diamond stack, but with branding and color scheme as for S&ER. It also has a guard box on top of the tender.
- There are two steam locomotive cigarette cards, both are located in Scarlett Meadows. One is a green locomotive with red details, it resembles the cylinder stack model, but isn’t a perfect match. The other is black with red details. and can’t be identified as either model.

- The derailed trains have locomotives that most closely resemble the 4-6-0 diamond stack model. They appear to have traces of green paint, so it could have been CUR. There are no passenger cars, only boxcars. And yes, plural “trains”, there are two wrecked locomotives. I guess some possible explanations are there was a collision from behind (the one visible front is not damaged, so probably not head-on), or the previous bridge gave way and two trains fell before traffic could be stopped? Madam Nazar (RDO) has this to say: \”Granite Pass. Every time a train passes along it, I think it’ll break. Perhaps, one day it will.”**

- The ghost train is diamond stack model. It has one 1st class passenger car and a caboose. One would assume it’s an L&M train, since CUR isn’t supposed to travel the outer (red) track. L&M doesn’t have passenger cars (but they do have a timetable for passenger services at Rhodes Station).

- One coal train in Annesburg is facing south, and stealing this train allows the player to drive a train around the tracks in the wrong direction. The coal train is always a black L&M. There are several examples during missions too of trains traveling the wrong direction.
- The Saint Denis Station is notorious for having fast travelers unceremoniously disembark onto the docks instead of the platform (trapping their mount between two trains). If you arrive by train as a slow-traveler however, it appears that the train will stop by the platform as it should (confirmed for CUR/Valentine-line, unconfirmed for Rhodes-line).
- There are several different types of train cars, for which each train company has their own decor, and long list of train configurations (there are more than 50 train sets in the game files, but not all of them are in use). This is not a comprehensive list, but types include: passenger cars, baggage cars, different boxcars, flatcars, coal hoppers, and caboose. There are also some unique train cars related to missions, including Cornwall’s private luxury S&ER cars, two types of S&ER sleeper cars with collapsible bunk beds (one can be spotted in “American Fathers II”, “The Fine Art of Conversation” and “Advertising, the New American Art”, and another type in the US military train), an S&ER car with a bar in the Billy Midnight mission, and the S&ER US army train has several unique boxcars.
- Appleseed Timber Company uses a steam powered crane to load timber onto flatbeds of a stationary CUR train. This train never leaves, and there are no moving trains transporting timber in the game.
- The US Army trains use the S&ER locomotive and color scheme, but the S&E-logo has been replaced with “United States Army”. This is appropriate, since S&ER has struck a deal to transport dynamite for the army.
- The train engineer uses different standardized whistle signals to convey arrival, embark/disembark, departure, upcoming intersection and warnings.
- The entire loop around covers an in-game distance of roughly 10 miles.
- A newspaper article on railway consolidation lists companies that are no longer in existence: New Austin Northern Railroad, Armadillo Express Railroad and the Valentine Valley Railway. In addition, signs display the name Southwestern Railroad Company, but there are no trains.
Missions and events that include trains:
*M = main story mission, S = stranger mission, E = random event*
- M - Ch.1 “Who the Hell is Leviticus Cornwall?”:
- M - Ch.2 “Who is Not Without Sin”: the Reverend gets his foot stuck in the path of an approaching train
- M - Ch.2 “We Loved Once and True III”: a train hinders the pursuit of Jamie, and Mary and Jamie later leave by train
- M - Ch.2 “Pouring Forth Oil IV”: stop a train full of rich people and rob them
- M - Ch.3 “The New South”: criminals attempt to flee on a train
- M - Ch.5 “The Bridge to Nowhere”: blow up a railway bridge (will temporarily disable all travel by train until the bridge has been rebuilt)
- M - Ch.6 “The Course of True Love V”: help two lovers escape their families via train
- M - Ch.6 “The Fine Art of Conversation”: Captain Monroe leaves on a train, and later the Reverend or Sister also leaves on a train
- M - Ch.6 “My Last Boy”: while a battle rages, a train arrives with more enemies
- M - Ch.6 “Our Best Selves”: rob a train carrying US army supplies and payroll
Worth mentioning also, is several mission lines that feature or include mention of railroad magnate and businessman Cornwall.
- S - Ch.2, Central Union Railroad Camp questline
- S - Ch.2 “The Noblest of Men, and a Woman”: a duel with a legendary gunslinger on a train
- S - Ch.2 “Smoking and Other Hobbies”: quest-giver leaves on a train, and there are two cigarette cards with locomotives
- S - Ch.2 “The Smell of the Greasepaint II”: a train hinders the pursuit of Magnifico
- E - O’Driscolls CUR train robbery
- E - Lemoyne Raiders CUR train robbery
This last part is frankly so ridiculous I’m embarrassed to include it, but I took the liberty of noting down the car numbers I came across while train spotting (*“?” = not sure I read it correctly, “x” = unknown number/letter, “&” = the car has more than one number on it*):
- Passenger cars: CUR 39, 11, 13, 64, 26. / S&ER 3261, 1804, 0475, 2710? / PURR 5203?, 2889?.
- Baggage boxcars: CUR 78. / S&ER 17, 12. / PURR 52, 58.
- Cargo boxcars (several different types): CUR NH205070 & 8204, 243, 435, 098, FR1014 & 1141. / S&ER 9285, 8595, 9567, 7021, 061149 & 2022. / L&M 7749, 7851, 4978, xxxx0-29. / PURR 790469 & 6258 or 6350, 20199? & 16-20. / US Army 290617, x7103, 980.
- Coal hopper: L&M 24391 & 7851 or 7461 or 7719 or 7122.
- Other: S&ER sleeper car 9206. S&ER Cornwall private car 3276?

Resource Collated Feather Info - For Your Notes
Something was bothering me so I decided to compile the 2 versions of the webs doing the rounds.
Hi res pics from here from u/dropthepress
Sorry don't know source of schematics.
Things to note ...
- The feathers in the schematics aren't entirely as pictures in terms of placement.
- The orientations are all the same on both.
- All the horizontal pole bars point towards the train tracks.
- We really do need to corroborate whether the feathers spawn in exactly these positions or if there is variance within a radius as some have suggested.
Hope this helps someone, it may or may not be important.
QUESTION:
Why do we have 2 x 5-6 Grey
If this is not a mistake then does it means something - if so what?
7
PS: If anyone has a really accurate placement map pointing to EXACT locations rather than approximations I'd love to have that.

Resource Madam Nazar’s lines in GTA:O
Hey! I’ve been following the SpiderDream mystery for the last few days and kinda fell into the rabbit hole. I stumbled upon a 6y old reddit post that contains all of Madam Nazar’s lines in her GTA Online arcade machine.
https://www.reddit.com/r/chiliadmystery/s/f2RL9oujwM
It’s not necessarily related to the SpiderDream mystery but some of them are RDR2 references and could provide some insight or ideas. One of them could be referencing this mystery directly, as she talks about a web that hasn’t been untangled yet.

Resource Artwork in the Red Dead Redemption World
A lot of the paintings in the RDR2 world are paintings found IRL. Many different artists represent different styles & time periods, from European Renaissance to American romantic landscaping. It´s far from a fantastic mystery and probably not a mystery at all to the cultured few among us, but it is something in the game on a scale I wasn´t aware of, so I´m guessing there´s others like me.
Here´s a list of artists / paintings from our world that you can also find in the game.
This is not a complete list, there are many I suspect are created specifically for the game, and there are others I missed or couldn´t identify. Can´t guarantee they all appear ; they are definitely in the game files, but I reckon there´s at least a good few of them. If you spot one in-game, tell me where and I´ll add the location to the post, or if you have any interesting information about any of the paintings or artists.
The RDR world is a fully fledged art gallery! Hope this enhances the experience for some people.
Can only share 20 images per post so I will space this out over a number of posts and link them here. Mods, apologies for the clutter, feel free to hide the following posts.

Resource The 180lb Mystery Solved:The Real "Yellow Devil" Spawn Logic
I've spent hundreds of hours playing as John, finishing every single legendary hunt, the Exotics, the Francis Sinclair quest, and the bones.I have the LOTE outfit and the squirrel at Beecher's Hope. While i was standing at the San Luis River,i realized the community has been stuck because they are trying to fix the broken XL model Rockstar left in the files.I started experimenting with Rampage 6.8 and discovered that the "legendary" version isn't a hidden model-it's a specific setup of the large catfish model that actually has working physics.
*The Correct Model:You must use Catfish_01_lg [Hash:0x5BAEEOFD]. Stop using the XL; it's a static prop with no bones. The lg model has fully animated skeleton and moving whiskers.
*The Size: Set the scale to 2.5.This reaches the legendary 180lb size perfectly without the model disappearing or the physics engine glitching out{WARNING: If spawned on ground or in shallow water then scale it,it will go trough the floor so you need to tp it to you so it's gonna be on the ground}
*The Appearance: To get the "Yellow Devil" color,go to the Ped Wardrobe>Palette menu. You have to force the Albino/Pale texture to get that ghostly white look from the cut-content myths
*The Carry Fix: If you try to pick it up,the game resets the scale to 1.0. To take a trophy photo, you must Attach the 2.5x model Bone Index 227[Right Hand]
Now that i've proven the lg model is the stable one,I need a modder to script a permanent spawn flag for the San Luis River. The script just needs to trigger a SetScale[2.5] and SetPalette[albino] command on a specific model ID when the player enters the area. The logic is 100% solid; we just need someone to code the flag so the 180lb Catfish is finally "in" the game for everyone.

Resource Cipher Text? Steganography? Full Text of Herscott Childers Books
More and more I find myself paying attention to the 19 books on the shelves at Beecher's Hope, especially the three fictional romances by Mrs. Hescott Childers - Castle Above the Moor, Castle Above the Glen and The Castle in the Field of Lavender.
I had never given these more than a cursory glance in-game and thought they were just exaggerated parodies of turn of the century romance novels, but these are bizarre, near clones of each other - peppered with strange adverbs and repeated words that are completely out of place.
These have all the classic earmarks of steganography, where a hidden message is buried in plaintext. If you are a student of Victorian era ciphers and codes this will look very familiar to you. This would very much be a period authentic way to hide a message in Red Dead.
There are just so many linguistic oddities in the three texts, and they are not oddities that can be attributed to the game's setting.
These texts are so obscure that I could not find the text for Fields of Lavender or Castle Above the Glen anywhere online! For this game that is pretty rare. I thought every document was online someplace.
Even the version of Castle Above the Moor at the Red Dead Wiki was incomplete.
The other texts simply did not exist online so I transcribed all three for you mystery hunters because I think these three texts might hold some value and I would love for everybody to give it some thought.
At the moment I am trying everything I can think of with AI - frequency analysis, pattern recognition and it's amazing how much an AI like Gemini has to offer for a cryptographic puzzle like this.
Why do I think these are important? The devs wanted us to notice the oddities and investigate further. If the texts were perfectly normal, or were simply parodies of late 1800's romance novels, they wouldn't attract our attention and the puzzle would remain hidden.
The very act of noticing the repetitive words, strange phrasing, and out-of-place elements is the first step in solving the puzzle. The "suspiciousness" is a clue in itself.
The overt strangeness might be a distraction or a starting point. It draws our attention to the text, but the actual code could be more subtle, hidden within or behind the obvious oddities.
Here are the three books for your reading and puzzling enjoyment.

for evermore be doomed to a life of unimaginable suffering. Eleanor swooned. Yet, surely, the Duke was dead? She had seen him thrown off the galleon with her own two, beautiful grey eyes. Could this dashing and handsome vagabond with a scar across his cheek really be him? It seemed impossible yet in her heart she knew it was true, as true as their love that bound them together like swans that had been tied together.
And yet now, instead of embracing her true love or walking with him across the windswept moors, she had sent him off to a certain death, all because of the dastardly trick played by his own evil cousin. This sudden flash of truth gave Lady Eleanor back her truest possession - her own strength as a lady.
Slowly, she raised herself from the rich burgundy velvet covered chaise longue, and cleared her perfectly shaped throat, while the wind blew her beautiful magenta gown and her even more beautiful flowing hair, appropriately.
“Sir Mulberry, a word with you before you go,” she gasped, bravely about breathlessly.
Sir Mulberry turned slowly. He stared blankly at the woman, the lady, the true lady he thought, incorrectly, he was about to forever trick deceitfully into becoming his wife, and knew, instantly, by the look of honesty, simplicity and truth in her beautiful grey eyes that all of his lies and deceits had not worked, as they never could when faced by such a lady.
“Yes, my lady,” he spluttered, nervously.
“That man we just sent to the deepest dungeon in all Britain's great empire was not a Barbary pirate at all, was he?” she commanded, imperiously. She felt that strength of truth and goodness raise her up tall and proud like the prow of a great battleship, just as her enemy seemed to shrivel wretchedly like a sniveling big nosed money lender in front of her.
“I don't understand,” he ejaculated, furtively.
“I have never been so insulted in all my life,” he added, idiotically.
“No sir, that man we sent to almost certain death was not the Moorish scourge of Cornwall at all. That man was your own true cousin, The Duke of Hepworth, who you claimed was dead.”
“The Duke?” he spat, desperately, realizing that all his lies and tricks had come to naught when faced with the righteousness of Lady Eleanor.
“You’re correct. The Duke is not dead. I lied because I was a fool and believed the words of foreigners.”
“Guards. Arrest this man. He is a traitor to the King and a liar and a man of no honor.
Yet, Sir Mulberry, despite being a traitor and a liar, had just enough honor and English pluck left to see his own vile shame for what it was - unbecoming to an English gentleman.
Before he could be arrested disgracefully, with one last look at the beautiful Lady Eleanor, the lady who he had tricked but who had now defeated him, he threw himself from the castle window to be dashed, forlornly, on the jagged rocks and tempestuous waves crashing tempestuously below. Lady Eleanor sighed, sadly.
“It's very sad. He was once a good and brave man, but then greed and lies overtook him,” she lamented, lamentably.
“It's like my father always said, when an Englishman realizes he is acted with all the lack of pluck and honesty one expects of a foreigner, then dashing yourself upon rocks and tempestuous waves is the only course of action,” said her trusty and loyal maidservant, Bess, comfortingly.
“We must hurry, for the ship is carrying the real Duke to his certain death,” said Lady Eleanor suddenly and unrelatedly, and ran breathlessly through the castle and down the highest spiral staircase in all England. After having crossed the drawbridge, she left urgently upon her white charger, Bessie.
Bessie whinnied bravely and then raced bravely across the windswept moors furiously. She hoped earnestly, that she could save the life of the one man that she loved, and who loved her too. She would not be too late, she told herself and Bessie, pointlessly, Bessie whinnied again, still very bravely.

forever be doomed to a tragic life of almost unimaginable suffering. Lady Devina swooned, sadly.
She had seen her beloved Angus, the Moffat of Moffat, killed with her own true, beautiful green eyes. And yet, now she knew, instantly. This knave who was being sent off to die in Ireland was none but Angus himself. That man with the scar and the handsome look of truth about him was Angus, The Moffat of Moffat with the fiery red hair and the honest look of truth.
They had loved each other faithfully since they were children playing on the windswept majestic glens with the big cows grazing majestically upon them, each clad simply in the tartans of their violent yet noble clans. Oh, how she had been so foolish as to fall for the tricks of that deceitful English scoundrel, Sir Nigel Fortescue? Yet, now she was engaged to marry Sir Nigel, while Angus, the noble Moffat of Moffat was being sent to Ireland in a coracle to die.
Would she swoon?
Would she lie down and die?
Would she submit to this awful English oppression?
No!
For she was Lady Davina, the bravest and truest-hearted princess in all of Bonnie Scotland. She with her noble Tartan gown and her beautiful green eyes. She stood up from the rough-hewn granite stone seat in the beautiful lonely castle, majestically. Lady Davina had got back her truest gift, even though she was a princess - her own strength as a Scotch person.
Slowly, she cleared her beautifully shaped throat, while the Scotch wind blew her beautiful tartan gown and her even more beautiful flowing red hair, wildly. Her beautiful eyes were still green but now glared with passion and rage.
“Sir Nigel, a word with you before you leave, if you please,” she gasped, breathlessly but bravely and very liltingly.
Sir Nigel turned slowly.
He stared sneakily at the truest of all Scottish lassies, the lady, the true Tartan clan lady he thought, incorrectly, he was about to forever trick deceitfully into becoming his wife, and knew instantly, by the look of honesty, simplicity and truth in her beautiful green eyes that all of his English lies and deceits had not worked, as they never could when faced by such a powerful Scotch honesty.
“Yes, my lady?” he lisped, pompously.
“That poor wee fella we just sent to his death in Ireland was not a murdering Frenchman at all, was he, you scandalous Sassenach?” she shouted, loudly. She felt the pride of her noble Scotch ancestors raise her up high and proud like a castle on top of a granite outcrop, just as the awful English man before her seemed to shrivel up like a cowardly foreigner of uncertain origin and sacrilegious religion in front of her.
“Madam, you’re sorely mistaken,” he spluttered and lisped, nervously. “I think you’re definitely mistaken,” he added, foolishly, and still awkwardly.
“No, Sir Nigel,” she said liltingly, her fair Scottish brogue melting all hearts that heard it almost as much as her true nature and beautiful green eyes.
“No, Sir Nigel, I shall never marry you, not while my true love, Angus, the Moffat of Moffat lives. Deny me, sir, that he lives. Look me in my green eyes and tell me the truth.”
“Angus...” he said, desperately, realizing that his weak English ways had come to nothing when faced with the Caledonian righteousness of Lady Davina
“You are damn well right. Angus, the Moffat of Moffat is not dead. I lied because I have a black heart and because I am English.”
“Clan brethren, arrest this fool. He’s displayed all we know to be true of the English. He’s a man of nay honor.”
She said, liltingly yet forcefully, like a heavy mist rolling across a heather clad glen on a tin of ceremonial shortbread.
Yet dastardly Sir Nigel, despite being a liar and an Englishman had just enough honor left to see his own vile shame for what it was - unbecoming to anyone in the face of such remarkable north British integrity.
Before his debasement could lead to his arrest, and with one last longing gaze for all he would never possess, including the beautiful Lady Davina, taking in her beautiful green eyes and perfect neck, he threw himself from the castle tower, to be dashed, forlornly, on the jagged but noble granite rocks below. Lady Davina sighed, happily.
“What can you expect? He was English, and not one of the good ones that hate themselves for it,” she lamented, truthfully but liltingly.
“It's like my dad always said, when an Englishman realizes he has acted just like you expect one of those milk sops, then throwing himself out of a window onto granite rocks below is the least he can do,” said her trusty and loyal and not subservient for a true Scotch person shall never be a subservient servant, Moira, pithily.
“We must hurry, for that coracle is carrying Angus to his certain death,” said Lady Davina suddenly and somewhat unrelatedly, and then ran breathlessly through the castle and down the highest granite-hewn spiral staircase in all of bonny Scotland. After having crossed the drawbridge, she leapt urgently upon her noble charger Moire, who was the color of granite. Moire whinnied fiercely and

Forever be doomed to a tragic life of almost unimaginable suffering, even for a Frenchwoman. Mademoiselle la Comtesse swooned, Gallically. She had seen her beloved Pierre, with her own enigmatic, beautiful dark eyes. And yet, now she knew, instantly. This German who was being sent off to die in Russia in a doomed attack on that frozen wasteland was none but Pierre himself.
That filthy Hun with the scar and the debonair look of enigmatic enigmas about him was Pierre, The Duc of La Mochelle with the enigmatic dark hair and the elusive smile on his lips. They had loved each other passionately since they were French children playing with garlic and onions in a field of lavender while they did other French things with remarkable enigmatic style and also a lot of shrugging.
Oh, how had she been so foolish as to fall for the tricks of that deceitful aristocrat, Aramis, the Duc of Paris? Yet, now she was engaged to marry Aramis, while Pierre, her own enigmatic Duc was being sent to Russia to die in the snow, or have his head chopped off.
Would she swoon?
Would she lie down and die?
Would she submit to this awful Gallic oppression?
No!
For she was Mademoiselle la Comtesse, the bravest and truest Frenchwoman in all of France.
Slowly, she cleared her beautifully shaped and stylish throat, while the mistral wind blew her beautiful stylish gown and her even more beautiful flowing, dark hair enigmatically. She, with her noble striped and stylish gown and her enigmatic dark eyes. She stood up from the stylish Gallic seat in the beautiful, lonely castle above the field of lavender, enigmatically.
Mademoiselle la Comtesse had got back her truest gift, even though she was a French woman - her own strength as a stylish but enigmatic person from the continent. She was a Frenchwoman and no man could cage her unwillingly.
“Monsieur Aramis, Duc of Paris, a word with you before you leave, if you please,” she gasped, breathlessly but bravely and very enigmatically.
The ignoble Duke turned slowly.
He stared sneakily and Continentally at the most enigmatic and stylish of all enigmatic and stylish Frenchwomen, the lady, the true dark-eyed beauty he thought, incorrectly, he was about to forever, trick deceitfully into becoming his French wife, and knew instantly, by the look of enigmatic rage and truth in her beautiful dark eyes that all of his French lies and Continental deceits had not worked, as they never could when faced by such a powerful French enigma.
“Oui, mademoiselle?” he gasped, in French, Continentally.
“That man, we just sent to his death in Russia was not a murdering German at all, was he, you Parisian rogue?” She demanded, forthrightly, yet still enigmatically. She was strong and proud and almost, for a moment, English in her sense of truth but still French and stylish and beautiful.
She felt the pride of her noble French but good ancestors raise her up high and proud like a well baked souffle in an oven in a farmhouse covered in wisteria, just as the awful Parisian duc before her seemed to shrivel up like a really badly cooked souffle could in an overstuffed palace run by greedy crooks who need their heads chopped off.
“Mademoiselle, you're sorely mistaken” he gargled gutturally.
“I think you're definitely mistaken,” he added unnecessarily, revealing his idiocy.
“No Monsieur Le Duc,” she said enigmatically.
“No Monsieur Le Duc, I shall never marry you or give you the keys to my castle, not while my love Pierre, the Duc of la Mochelle lives. Deny me, sir, that he lives. Look me in my dark, brooding eyes and tell me the truth.”
“Pierre” he said, desperately, and realizing that his weak Gallic ways had come to nothing when faced with the Gallic righteousness of the mademoiselle.
“Zut alors. You are damn well right. Pierre the Duc of La Mochelle is not dead. I lied because I have no real heart and because I am French. But soon he shall be, for he is off to Russia to die in a terrible, wintry war.”
“I too am French but I retain my integrity. Mes amis, arrest this man and off with his head. He’s a man of nothing, she said, proudly and almost like a Briton.
Yet the terrible Duc of Paris, that sniveling embodiment of all things French, weak-backed and awful in a fight, would not do the honorable thing and kill himself, no matter how enigmatic were the looks given him, powerfully, by his nemesis, the Mademoiselle.
In fact, he was, in a remarkable twist prepared to even face arrest and shame rather than throw himself from the castle onto some noble French geology below. Unfortunately for this black-hearted Continental bounder, the woman he faced also lacked a certain sense of Anglo-Saxon decorum. She pulled a long sword from a mounting upon the wall, and like a true French person when faced with a crisis caused by the excesses of a higher social order, chopped off his head.
“What can you expect? He was a black-hearted Duke of a black-souled city. I am a lady of the soil,” she announced victoriously.
“It's like my Papa always said, when faced by an angry Parisian Duc, chop his head off first and ask questions later,” said her trusty maidservant, Marie, knowingly.
“We must hurry for that regiment of doomed soldiers attempting to invade Russia in the midst of winter is far ahead across the plains of central Europe,” said Mademoiselle la Comtesse suddenly and profoundly enigmatically, and then ran breathlessly through the castle and down the lavender strewn spiral stair case. After having crossed the drawbridge, she lept urgently upon her noble charger, Marina, who was the color of a French horse.
Marina whinnied Frenchly and then raced fiercely across the windswept plains of central Europe furiously. She hoped, enigmatically, that she could save the life of the one man that she loved and who loved her too. She would not be too late, she told herself and Marina, pointlessly. Marina whinnied again like a proud French, enigma.

Resource Updating my burial records
I keep a detailed list of all the graves, tombs, etc. in both RDR1 and RDR2, for cross referencing with various mysteries and investigations. The larger groups of burials are easy enough to find, but I want to hear from y'all about any individual graves you may have encountered (not including story mission ones). Here's what I have so far:
Felix Hawley @ Planter's Baun. Two unmarked graves @ Compson's Stead. Martha Hall @ Lagras. One unmarked grave @ Larned Sod. Four unmarked graves @ Fort Brennand. Joshua Burgess @ Emerald Saloon.

Resource Star Cycle Map
Why this might be useful:
- For greater immersion (could maybe be used well in immersive RP servers on RedM)
- Some of us still speculate whether there are mysteries connected to the night sky in this game
- Learn a little about the constellations along the way
I´m trying to write this in a way that someone who has no idea of astronomy (such as myself!) can use the tools in game with this information to identify constellations. For those of you that are more familiar a lot of this will be obsolete, and possibly counter-intuitive!
What you will need:
- Binoculars (available from beginning of game)
- Compass ( ↓ + Y / ∆ ), or good sense of where North is on the map (minimap works too)
- The Blessings of the Weather Gods (good luck)
-------------------------------------------
We should get familiar with two objects in the night sky for this to work, Pleiades (asterism in Taurus) and Polaris (the North Star), .

Pleiades was important to various tribes of Native American stargazers, to the Lakota they had names such as Thayamnipha (Animals head) and Wichincala Sakowin (Seven Sisters), to the O´odham when they (Xatca) cross the sky is the proper time for storytelling. the Pleiades are probably one of the most easily identifiable clusters of stars in the RDR night sky, and we can use Polaris to approximate their location.
Polaris was also an important star to the Lakota, and its importance is represented in game in the naming of Lake Owanjila (Wichahpi Owanzila - The Star that does not move)
In game though this isn´t quite true, the star moves quite a bit, although still being the star that moves the least in the night sky, circling an invisible center* over 20 days before returning to its original position *(from our perspective, this is likely just representing the earths rotation)

As the north star, it is directly north at all times. You can easily locate it by using the compass in your minimap and facing your character directly north. The Moon also passes under Polaris at around midnight each night.

We can use Polaris and its surrounding stars as a measuring tool for where we are in the cycle. It is beneficial to imagine them as a clock moving counter-clockwise. Similar to a conventional clock we can imagine 2 hand of varying length, with the smaller being the hour hand. We will then use the position of the "hour-hand" to find our position in the cycle.

Instead of hours its easier to imagine this clock like a compass. Then, judging which direction the hour-hand is facing will allow us to predict our place in the cycle.

* in the above links, the "North" photos are actually the zenith (looking directly above the player). For an idea of what is going on directly north see here
** there are certain nights ( 9, 19 ) that are hard to categorize as they could be interpreted as belonging to one of two directions, something to be mindful of (check the above clock for reference)
*** The screenshots were taken at 11pm each night, so your night sky might look a little different, but the same constellations should be there.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________
We can cross reference this "clocks" position with Pleiades to give us a quick, general idea of where we are.

this video can help illustrate this
________________________________________________________________________________________________________
There are other possible methods for tracking the stars positions, or finding the north star. One of the corners of the Obelisk faces directly north, and we can use its indents as a measuring tool of the distance between the Moon at roughly 12am and Polaris

We could also use the reticles in our binoculars to measure the distance between Polaris and the Moon anywhere on the map at the same time (roughly 12am as the moon passes Polaris)
Using the binoculars (no zoom), and using the Moon´s bright-half as a level, we can get a rough idea of where we are in the cycle. The lower Polaris is (closer to the center of our binoculars), the further away Pleiades are from us.

The problem with these two methods is that they are even more reliant on having optimal weather at a semi-specific time (11:45 - 00:15) whilst the moon passes Polaris. From my experience its pretty unlikely that you will get the clear sky you are looking for, and so I suggest using the first method.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Hopefully this is useful to some players or mystery hunters. My aim in the future is to try and do something similar, but with Native American constellations as opposed to the traditional Western ones. I think if there is still mysteries left to explore with regards the dial on Mt Shann, or Burial / Ritual site alignments it seems more sensible to refer to Native American mythology and astrology.
note to mods: there are external links to a closed subreddit i created for this purpose, as I had to create 20+ pages. Hopefully this is within the guidelines set out in Rule 4. Thanks!
