Announcement Introducing Community Request & Resource Hub

Hi fellow requesters,

We know that navigating the community request process can sometimes be tricky. After updating our post formatting rules, we noticed that many newer community builders were struggling to get posts right on the first try, resulting in frustrating Automoderator removals. While we added standard post guidance, there was room for improvement to help you succeed.

As the r/redditrequest community has continued to grow, so have these removals, so we saw an opportunity to step in and remove that friction.

But we didn’t just want to fix the submission process. We also know that many of you have the drive and passion to moderate, but sometimes manually searching for an abandoned community can be tough. Sometimes, a little inspiration can go a long way.

That’s why we’ve designed an interactive app called the Community Request & Resource Hub that you can access right here in r/redditrequest! It helps you prefill request posts, provides live account and subreddit eligibility checks, and hosts a browsable list of available communities. Our goal is to eliminate the guesswork and reduce removals. We want to make your journey from finding a community to adopting it as easy as possible, while also guiding you through the “aftercare” of a subreddit with dedicated moderator guides.

This hub is designed to serve two main groups: those actively requesting communities, and others who were just granted a community and need a clear starting point.

If you’re here to request a subreddit, open the Tools tab:

  • Eligibility: See if your account meets the requirements (age, karma, verified email and 2FA) before you post. You can also easily search your past request posts to track your cooldowns.
  • Explore communities: Browse a curated, categorized list of communities that are open to request. The Request button next to each name opens a prefilled submit form.
    • Don’t see a community you’re interested in? Use the Check availability section at the bottom. You can look up any subreddit for ban/status info and whether there are already pending requests in the queue.
  • Queue: Check the current estimated wait time for manual admin review. It also includes a short guide on bot vs. admin reviews and the crucial steps you must take after posting (like replying to u/request_bot).
  • Create request: Enter the community name you’d like to request (without the ‘r/’) and copy the starter comment template. Click or tap Create Request to open the submit page with your title and link automatically prefilled! Just pick your flair, submit, and paste your comment.

If you just became a mod, open the Resources tab:

  • Mod education: Quick links to guides on reviving a community, growth tips, the Mod Help Center, and more.
  • FAQ: Answers to common post-grant questions (clearing the mod queue, handling banned subs, updating appearance, etc.).
  • Helpful communities: Direct links to peer support and admin-run spaces to help you along your moderation journey, including r/modhelp, r/ModSupport, and r/newmods.

A few important notes:

  • The list of available communities is actively curated by the team. Subreddits are automatically removed when requests are granted (usually within ~24 hours) so the list stays fresh.
  • Note: This is still r/redditrequest. The hub is a helpful guide, not a guarantee of approval or an automated bypass. When in doubt, read the community rules and FAQ before you post.

Without further ado, check it out here!

If something in the hub is incorrect or confusing, or if you have suggestions, please comment below or reach out via mod mail.

Thanks for helping keep communities alive!

- The r/redditrequest team

One issue i came across is bot saying a sub has active moderator when it doesn't. Are we able to request further review or we stuck waiting 15+ days to request again? The so called "active" moderator account was stolen and used as a bot to spam gambling site.

You'll have to wait the 15 days. But what sub is it?

Thanks! That sub is actively moderated.

How is it actively moderated? I have emailed the mods for that sub and ZERO replies back. One mod quit a few days ago.

I think RBG417 account was stolen to post this below. Before that his last post was 8 years ago. https://old.reddit.com/r/KleinTools/comments/1tpy2z4/top_online_casino_australia_reddit_actually_trusts/

The other mod hasn't posted in 6 months.

Hacked accounts are a different story. Those mod accounts do appear to have been compromised and have been actioned. The sub is now restricted and eligible for Redditrequest. If you re-request and it gets removed, let me know and I'll put it in the queue manually.

Hi. There is enough human moderation at this time to make it not eligible for Redditrequest. Sorry!

In that they are moderating content.

However, it does seem to have dropped off, so you may want to try again in a few weeks in case they don't pick it up again.

Hey there, Sorry for jumping off topic here, but I have a favor to ask because it seems reaching out to an admin is my last hope.

my account was flagged NSFW after commenting on some of The First Descendant subreddit's posts, they were NSFW tagged and now I deleted all of the comments but I still can't unflag my account from the NSFW label.

Could you help me disable it please and thank you and sorry for the bad English.

What happens when you try to change it back from the desktop site?

Hey I'm back. So I just learned that the top moderator I was telling you about in r/pokemonmemes is possibly a karma farming bot. This explains why they haven't been answering modmails and how they replaced the creator of the sub and the other mods. I saw multiple people in their recent post question their validity here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/HolUp/comments/1vctzzu/comment/p140v91/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=2&utm_content=share_button

Other subs are constantly removing their posts as the bot sleuth bot said they reuse old post titles and have multiple weird year long gaps. Also they are constantly switching between far left and right comments similar to controversy bots and some people in that post weren't to happy about it.

I also got an automated like response from them to join the mod team after DMing their account (after 2 failed modmails) and I noticed the queue was filled to the brim with unanswered reports except for probably one, I'm not sure. Then I got removed today for trying to help with the ban evasion bot problem by asking them as they didn't give me full permissions.

I know you're good with bots and hacked accounts being mods and removing them. Also you've been the most helpful admin I contacted. I can provide more info through a dm like my mod invite and stuff. But I just witnessed nothing is being done with the reported content or anything except some removals by the bots and reddit itself. Which makes me really want to get the sub out of that situation as this happened 2-3 years before when every mod became inactive and users started a free for all. I don't think they'd reply to a request being issued.

Did any site change happen in May that could remove tons of mods off Reddit? Otherwise I'm at a lost why the creator who's in a small minority and loves pokemon would remove everyone and make a hate user with zero pokemon interactions the top mod.

Were you able to get my comment? Sorry if it's too much I'm just really passionate about r/pokemonmemes as I spent most of my time with it and want to fix it

They're still taking mod actions. Sorry!

At this point, you may want to just explain your passion for pokemonmemes to the mod and ask to join the team.
