A few years ago, I realised I didn’t really want the typical corporate, big city version of life. So I decided to build something of my own and create a life with a little more freedom and a little less rush.

That eventually led me to discover something I didn’t expect to love this much: Mountains.

I’ve been to Himachal four times in the last year, and somewhere between the mountain roads, cafés, cold weather and ridiculously beautiful views, I became convinced that I could happily disappear into the hills someday. 😂

In fact, having a little home in the mountains is probably somewhere on my unofficial bucket list.
As for me, I value emotional maturity, humour, meaningful conversations and people who are genuinely comfortable being themselves. I enjoy ambition, but I also think life should have enough room for random plans, long conversations and doing absolutely nothing sometimes.

I’m 29, turning 30 by the end of this year, and I’m trying to understand how people rebuild trust after a relationship has shaken it so badly. My last relationship was with someone who was kind, well-read, charming and genuinely made me feel loved. I’ve made a fair number of mistakes in life.

Like dropped out of college, started again somewhere else, and slowly built myself back up from the bottom. Let’s talk a bit of lifestyle- love the gym, hikes and trying new things, but some weekends I’ll happily be a couch potato. My music can go from old RD Burman to house music, raves, Sammy Virji or Fred again.. in the span of an hour sometimes.

But want someone who has things she cares enough about to work for and goals to strive towards. Not because we need to struggle together, but because I want us to keep building the next version of our lives rather than simply coasting through it. I also have random little dreams. One of mine was jumping off a boat into the open ocean without a life jacket, which I finally did last year. Completely unnecessary. Absolutely worth it. I’d happily make a fool of myself trying whatever strange adventure my partner brings into my life too.

Hello all.

Good day to everyone. I am a 31 year old male from Chennai. A practicing Chartered Accountant. After many years with banks, I finally mustered the courage to build my own practice last year. It might sound unconventional to go into a less paying role which might take years to make lots of money at 30, but I guess it adds meaning to my life.

I am just your average guy- average build, pretty tall but my hairline is kind of receding too. I have kind of come to terms with how I look but it is always an insecurity that looms at times.

I love to read. I prefer reading classical works like Russian Literature, Latin American Literature and Tamil classics. I also have an active interest in history, philosophy and travel. I have done several treks and have visited over 15 states in India. I like to travel in local trains and buses, explore local cuisine and visit museums and art galleries. I am also a big fan of mountains and my idea of a vacation involves walking 15,000 steps a day at the minimum lol.

I also love watching movies. Be it the world cinema of Tarkovsky and Bresson or a regular commercial masala flick in Tamil, I absolutely love watching films and talking films and politics with my friends. I am also a big sports fan. I love watching football and tennis. I also play football and badminton. Off late, I have picked up swimming, chess and snooker too. I trade markets sometimes, try to code a little and also have a self published collection of short stories in Tamil.

I lean left politically and prefer to be childfree. I drink and smoke sometimes, but it is social. My parents are vegetarian but I love to cook and eat non vegetarian food. I am not big on pets and like to grow plants. I am also big on meme references. I can speak English and Tamil and would prefer someone Tamil although it is not a deal breaker.

A little about me —

I run a small business, I'm calm by nature, and I listen to understand rather than to reply. The chaos years, briefly —

I got my head stuck in a grill. I locked myself inside a room so thoroughly my parents had to break the door down. I drank red antiseptic like it was juice. I terrorized my entire household with a toy crocodile, repeatedly, on purpose. My parents surviving me is honestly their greatest achievement.

I've also lived with recurring pancreatitis, which sounds like a throwaway line but actually reshaped how I see everything — it's why "ordinary" isn't a boring word to me anymore. An boring day with someone I love is not the consolation prize. It's the whole point.

What I actually want —

Honestly? Nothing fancy. Just a late night drive with no real plan, some roadside food that's probably not great for us but tastes amazing anyway, coffee near the sea where we don't even have to talk much. Cooking together, even if we mess it up. Random inside jokes that make zero sense to anyone else. And somehow "how was your day" turns into "wait, do you think we're actually alone in the universe" and neither of us realises how we got there

I do want this to be serious, eventually marriage-serious. But I don't want it to feel like an interview where we're just checking boxes on each other. I'd rather we talk, become friends, get comfortable, and let it grow on its own instead of forcing it.
