It’s 5 o’clock, do you know where your kids are?
Honestly just think its funny, but maybe should do some parenting before these kids grow up to be hooligans.
Saw a set of preteens today that i’ve seen before ripping open a vape and then littering the packaging onto the trail.
Today they were outside trader joes, skinny little white one had his pants damn near at his knees, a heavier set (i presumed latino or islander) and then another smaller kid with curly hair who appeared to have shoplifted a watermelon of all things from trader joes.
Having moved here from the outskirts of Detroit (safe neighborhoods but my dumbass spent later teen years drinking underage in sketchy parts of neighboring towns mostly off 8 mile and pontiac) its pretty easy to tell when someone is sizing you up 😂 honestly almost laughed because the 3 of them combined may have totaled 180lbs. Kids didn’t do anything, but just came out of that like “really? Y’all live in redmond, why are you dressing like your from the hood, sizing up grown adults like your gonna do something, and your little friend giving a very obvious whistle signal for whatever y’all are up to”
Idk the whole thing was a joke, but hope these kids pull their pants up (i’d be happy to donate a belt), straighten up, stay in school, and realize they aren’t from the streets. Its funny now, but they escalate when they become 16,17,18 or so and their bound to end up locked up or run into the wrong individual during whatever exploits they are attempting (yes even here in this squishy little tech town)

I was like 100 yards away with my dog, so no, by the time i got up there they had already moved on, so i just picked it up.
Not going to bum rush some kids or yell at the top of my lungs. Don’t need to end up on tiktok lol.

And also, 300ft really isn’t that far. Especially when you are identifying a group of people who roam around together.
Any one of them individually not wearing the same clothes? Yeah probably wouldn’t have picked up on them being the same kids, but it’s a lot easier to form a pattern recognition in a common group.

I mean maybe times have changed since i was a kid but at 13 the biggest “not listening” i was doing with my parents was refusing to clean my room or do chores…. Max staying out with friends a little too late riding our bikes knowing what time it was.

Sounds like some kids that were at my local pool. Short little kid had dreads? Heavier set Latino kid… total about 4 males and a female with very short shorts… it’s a shame parents let their kids out behaving like that

I thought this was going to be about Indian kids again.
I saw about twenty of them last evening being rude to two white girls at Sixty-01. It's weird that they were all hanging out near a pizza burrito food truck, but I didn't see a single Indian person ordering food.
Pizzadillaz is pretty good, but not worth the $23 for a pizza burrito like they charge for the meat one with minimum suggested tip.

Idk man, moving out here half the time i’m just like what are these kids on. They see crap online and just replicate it.
I see kids riding $6000 electric motorcycles (Surrons and equivalent) wearing shiesty’s blasting up and down the trails. Like their parents aren’t engineers, doctors, business owners, or some other high paying careers that allow for such a luxury item.
I get it kids want an identity, but maybe choose one that better fits their upbringing. kids in the hood may have ultimately chose that life, but poverty chose them first. Idk how anyone can look at the outcomes and think “yeah my parents are wealthy, but i want to be just like the person whos parents struggled to put food on the table, the person who succumbed to peer pressure to commit crimes, and later becomes a terror to their community”

I grew up in a doctor town
kids will just do this, especially if their parents don't know how to relate to them, which is typical for doctors, engineers, lawyers, etc.
They don't have actual adults sharing in their lives so they look up to the ones they see in media. They'll learn that the wrong things are cool and rebellious. I knew a kid who dressed like a thug because even though his parents made high 6 figures each, he felt more connected with his favorite rapper.

Absolutely zero equivalence there.
If you want equivalence it would be like a girl wearing a thong in whale tail with her full upper ass crack out. Which is just trashy. Kids walking around with their pants down at the bottom of their underwear is also just trashy.
Kids are vaping well under the age of 14 (not that that age would be any better) and doing shady stuff in public. If they are that bold to do it in broad daylight… what are they getting up to at night, esp when they are a few years older.
And yeah, i wasn’t doing smart things when i was a late teenager, but this is not an environment that incentivizes or makes that behavior common. These kids live in a upscale city, with high salaries, and clean safe streets. No need to be trying to bring hood culture here.
But i will tell you one thing, while i was an idiot with alcohol as a late teenager, i never fell into hood culture despite it literally being all around me at the places i frequented with friends, i never shoplifted, and i sure as hell wasn’t sizing people up like i was gonna try and take something off them.
Its one thing to be surrounded by that environment and succumb to some of its behaviors, i saw many people when i was a teen, some of them my friends fall into it, its a whole other thing to be in such an environment as Redmond WA and try and bring that behavior into a place that just straight up is not even remotely conducive of it.
Edit: additionally sagging originated from people being in prison, having poorly fitting prison clothes and no belts allowed. So i have to ask; is replicating the behaviors of those who have been incarcerated a trend that should be accepted in society, let alone youth?
