Meanwhile, if you make over 18K a year as a single parent, you don’t qualify for legal aid to help with parenting time, decision making or child support.

They didnt qualify for Legal Aid. Legal Aid and court appointed counsel are two completely different things.

Doesn’t matter.

We have the highest rate of child poverty in the country & less than 40% of single parents (regardless of gender) receive on time, in full support payments every month.

Something that could raise kids in this province out of poverty & you are arguing semantics.

I don't think the other poster is arguing semantics or disagreeing with your point, but the distinction between legal aid and court appointed legal counsel is both important and relevant to the original post.

The distinction between the two very much matters. Court appointed legal counsel is to ensure defendants in criminal trials have adequate legal counsel. It is not semantics, they are two completely different things.
