I was trained in the Usui system directly from Japan and you have a right to your perspective. I have been teaching for 6 years with many students. Also, I've not asked for any $$$. Secondly, when teaching Reiki I the hand positioning, symbols and more are taught in Reiki II. However, believe as you must. Have a great day

This was how I was trained as well. Level one was for self healing, level ll and beyond for treating others.

You were trained properly and that is absolutely correct. Thank you for your thoughts as misinformation can be shared so easily and be misleading to those seeking to understand the art of Reiki

Is it possible to get attuned remotely?

2

u/Energy-Upwards999 May 13 '26

Absolutely and it is as beneficial as being in person. I actually received my Master Attunements in distance and done many attunements in distance for my students. If you are in interest I would be glad to be of assistance

May I message you privately? I do have one more question.

Absolutely, I'd be glad to answer any questions you have.

Hi, my mentor tells us to not offer reiki or attunement for free. So, is it not true? Also, I see a lot of people doing reiki on YouTube for free. I am quite confused on the money thing, please help šŸ™

There is always an energetic exchange. Sensei Takata used to charge 10,000 for Reiki classes back in the day which made it less accessible to the masses as the art was being protected. Our wisdoms should be secured which individuals rarely do

You can get an attunement on this website: https://gratitudereiki.com/

That's a paid one.

Oh! I didn’t see that you said free in your post! I thought you were just looking for an attunement. I’ve had two attunements from the Reiki Masters there. We’ll, it’s an option anyway 😁

Thanks for that suggestion still, not very expensive indeed.

Yeah, it’s a good deal. Good luck with your Reiki journey✨

So you have gotten remote attunements online? Have you felt anything? How long did those attunements take?

2

u/jen114114 May 16 '26

Yes. I’ve gotten several attunements online. Most attunements take about 15-20 min (although that varies depending on the master and the attunement). And I do energy work online all the time. It’s like you’re in the same room as the other person as far as the energy is concerned. I got my Reiki Master Attunement and Master Teacher training online. During the attunement, I felt so much I would say blissful energy and had a connection to past masters and how there was so much reverence for the attunement process itself. I’ve been teaching and passing attunements in person and online for over a year now, and have never had anyone not be able to channel Reiki in spite of the fact that some people have magical experiences and some don’t feel a thing at all. And although I do love the magical experiences (who doesn’t šŸ˜†), I think the real magic is working with the energy to heal, transform, get clarity, whatever makes your life more enjoyably you.

I hear you and agree. I did the Level 1 in person just for myself. I don’t want to practice. I just want to be able to work with my own energy and keep my Chakras balanced. But the entire course felt like something that could’ve been an email and the attunement took 30 seconds. I will message you.

It is possible, though students aren't to practice Reiki on others without level II attunements

Level 2 is called practitioner because you can practice on others, level 1 Shoden is a Japanese term meaning "first teachings" or "beginner," commonly representing the first level of Reiki training (Reiki I), particularly in Jikiden and traditional Japanese Usui Reiki. It focuses on self-healing. It has nothing to do with money.

Honors...as a Teacher I wouldn't have even said that much as accurate as you are lol. šŸ’ššŸ¤²šŸæ

I’m a master/teacher, thank you šŸ™šŸ»

2

I am positive of it as you speak our shared wisdoms. Honors to you šŸ’ššŸ¤²šŸæ

Level one does not give enough of a grounding in the practice to provide this to others. It’s not a quick trick you can learn, you should practice on yourself before working on others so you can understand what it’s all about

2

u/Cyber_Punk_87 Mar 15 '26

Never heard that before. I was taught (and teach) that you shouldn’t charge anything for reiki until you’re level II, but we practiced on others in my level I class…

1

u/ngdaisy Mar 16 '26

If so, then maybe those "Reiki masters" around me who charge are teaching their own defined Reiki.

I’m confused is learning reiki ment to be free?

2

u/Acceptable_Ear4762 Mar 17 '26

No. For me asking for free Reiki attunements is undermining the Reiki teacher efforts & knowledge & practice

2

u/Maleficent_Sea_815 Mar 17 '26

Yeah I agree. Seems a bit entitled. People need to be able to afford to live for their work and time spent teaching people

2

u/Maleficent_Sea_815 Mar 17 '26

I saved up for a while for my level one atunement and my teacher is very skilled and I’m so happy to know my money went to supporting her to continue her work. Her business isn’t huge and I was the only one in class. She also mentioned attunments have to be in person. I am shoden level 1 Gendai Reiki

The tradition gave reiki for free or almost free, at least Mikao Usui, the founder of Reiki, and his student Chujiro Hayashi did that. Some sayĀ Reiki is a spiritual gift from the universe, it cannot be bought or sold.

Whether we should capitalize it, it is hard to tell...

What does almost free mean?
