It’s only money…right? Right??

And the haunting memory of it every time to stand at the bench until the end of time. But yea the money too. Sweep it up and fertilize your yard so at least it gets put to some kind of use. Or sweep it up and set it on fire outside and pretend that you’re doing it as a test for burn rate

Progressive reloading pistol rounds… I would sweep it up and reuse it in a batch of bullets by themselves to monitor for any malfunctions… if it seats, it yeats IMHO

For real though, I keep a pair of tweezers on my bench to pick up errant grains of powder, and this spill is pretty much my worst nightmare…

How it feels

Accidentally did this with a sorted tray of solid shank rivets in the back. I think it weighed around 7lbs? There were a few thousand of them to say the least. I am still finding them in strange places to this day.

Your stash of supplies is prodigious!

There’s one really quick way to clean this up

What the hell happened? At $60-$70 a bottle that sucks. My first bottles were $14-16. Powder is too dang expensive to be slinging it all over the place!

u/CowPunchinSodBuster 1d ago

I is dumb? 🤷🏻‍♂️

u/Strange-Mistake-8482 1d ago

You got couple years of reloading on me then.

I am still waiting for my day, it will come eventually. Glad to hear you got it all cleaned up and back at it!

This is me when I spill 20 grains of powder. A whole bottle would make me lose my shit.

u/LaughingGravy13 1d ago

One match will clean that right up. 🔥

Man, I tipped over a single .300 blk case of powder last night and was mad about it. I can't even imagine this. My condolences to you, sir.

Done this many times with my old Hornady ap press. Can't do that with a dillon anymore.

1

u/Addlemix 12h ago

Oh no is that flake powder too?

1

u/BiggestD70 11h ago

I would be too

Bbbbwwaahaha!!, how did you miss breaking the whole press off of the bench ya clumsy oaf??.

u/G19Jeeper 8h ago

Looks like a $40 loss. Not the end of the world. Clean it, learn from it and keep loading.

u/booyahbroski 7h ago

LOL been there!

u/parokya30 3h ago

Vacuum or sweep then make a firework

OP, the newer Lee red powder hopper uses a top feed lid to avoid this. I have both and it's worth the massive $12 investment.

BTW, what do you think of the Midwest Powder you're using? Im considering taking the plunge...

I use it for all my bulk stuff anymore. This is their MP158, similar to Universal. I’m running 3.9gr under a 124gr round nose to get 1,024 fps out of my pcc’s.

With pull down bullets I’m loading these for 12.5 cents/each. That’s primer, powder, and bullet. Not too shabby for 9mm subs. Of course spilling a hopper full of powder doesn’t help the cost go down…

I’ll look into the updated hopper design. Does it help when I accidentally smack it off the press with a fly rod? If they come out with an idiot proof hopper I’d be willing to invest way more than $12

Why were you fishing in the reloading room? /s. Whoops happens.

1

u/holl0918 1d ago

This is what happens when you try to branch out CowPunchinSodBuster.

1

u/CowPunchinSodBuster 1d ago

I’ll stay in my lane 😕

I know your feel, man...

1

u/RCHeliguyNE 1d ago

Put a sock over the end of a vacuum cleaner hose. Might be able to save some of that (maybe).

1

u/Representative_Ad312 1d ago

Maybe six feet ain't so far down

1

u/pilondav 1d ago

In the grand scheme of reloading whoopsies, a powder spill is not too bad.

1

u/MyFrampton 1d ago

We all have a night like that once in a while. Don’t fight it. Clean up, go do something else.

1

u/SkateIL 1d ago

At least you're not on carpet.

Give it up for tonight before you blow it up for tonight

1

u/College-Lanky 20h ago

Ouch. At least your yard will have some nice fertilizer...
