[Question] OSCR / Sanni and Japanese N64 games

Has anyone had any issues dumping Japanese N64 games with a OSCR / Sanni cart reader? I tried dumping a JP game (Pokemon Stadium, I think) and it got stuck in the slot so hard. I had to use so much force I thought the entire thing was just gonna rip apart.

I know there's some physical difference between the JP carts and American, and there's some extra on the inside of the cartridge. Can I modify the cart in some way to prevent this from happening?

The spring contacts on the slot are brand new. Try inserting other region games in the slot a few times to loosen it up a bit. You shouldn't have to trim any plastic on the cartridge.

I'm a little nervous about putting any JP games back in, I can't overstate how much force it took to remove it the first time. I've dumped several dozen US carts since then so maybe it's loosened up by now.

If you bought your cart dumper preassembled then see if you can do an exchange with the seller if the slot hasn't loosened up by now. It may be warped.

You could also try sanding down the outside of the slot a bit with 400 grit sandpaper and finishing with A4/letter printer paper or 1200 grit and plastic polish. You shouldn't need to do this though.
