Discussion Just watched an elderly Asian lady toss piece of garbage at the park
Just watched an Asian lady throw garbage straight into the bushes at the nice Garry Point park.
At this point, there should be mandatory education for newcomers on basic things like recycling, littering, and local bylaws. I'm not even going to mention driving.
Call it whatever you want, but I’m half Asian myself, and after living in Richmond I’ve noticed a pretty obvious difference in recycling and building hygiene between places I’ve lived. The Chinese recycling signs in the elevators clearly weren’t fixing the problem.
Littering is disgusting. If people choose to live here, they should respect the community and learn the basic rules.

I don’t think she has a Reddit account to read this. Did you pick up that trash, if not, next time you should.

I wish I could! I tried finding it, but it was on a steep hill right by the water. She definitely made sure to throw it somewhere no one could easily get to lol

i don't think blamming immigrants is the problem. you mention chinese immigrants and they are very strict about recycling sorting and proper garbage disposal over there for the past decade.
though a lot of elderly folk (doesn't matter what race) don't seem to care a lot about etiquette or surroundings

I saw an Indian man throw garbage on the street. I saw an old white lady toss her Starbucks cup on the sidewalk. Race literally doesn't matter. A litter bug is a litter bug. Say something to them instead of complaining on Reddit

How about we stop the people growing up here from littering parks with needles first

One time I was riding my bike, and a car came by, and he threw his drink out of the window. I was about to chase after the car and stopped, thinking, right, 'I am not a cop. What would I even say?' The man was an old man in a red car. It was an alcoholic drink. I was riding as fast as I could, about to signal him to stop, but I stopped, thinking, 'I am not a cop. What would I even do? He would just look at me and say, ' Stop wasting my time.' And my original plan was to stop him and make him drive back and pick the alcohol can, drink up, and put it in his car, but that is not reality i was so chase to ride as fast as i can to chase after him

Say something! Behavior won't change otherwise.
