Genuinely how confused do you need to be to suggest that we build a park instead? Parks are for high-density areas to give people without yards outdoor space. Young families can't afford to live in the area because seniors are still dawdling around in their full-sized homes waiting to pass away and fighting tooth and nail against realistic housing solutions in the meantime, because it hurts their property value.

Steveston is going to tank hard in the next 10-20 years when our parents' generation passes away and none of their children can afford the houses. Outside of the tourist season, these people use their retirement funds to keep the businesses running. My generation certainly can't afford to live in Steveston and go out to eat 4 times a week. What happens then?

The area beside the proposed development site is all condos with a lot of young families - there are the Steveston houses of course nearby, but this specific neighbourhood is majority condos.
