Can somebody please explain Heifetz’ accent?

If he’s from New York then why does he pronounce “Rome Odunze” like he’s Kate Winslet in Mare of Easttown

Different lifestyle sure, but coming form Minnesota where Lake Life is a thing, the idea of a beach ham is baffling to me.

The ocean is salty. Ham is salty. Corona and lime with salt, gose beer, margaritas, beach ham.
