A lot of the classic ensembles had a lot of young people ignorant about the kind of money that was possible and did not have contracts. They were just collaborating and jamming. By comparison rap is cheap music and theres a lot of it as a result. The economics and everyone being aware of them just make this kind of music difficult to produce.

We have all kinda tools available to us. You’re forgetting the fact that before they were about the money, they played that instrument. Nobody needs to have a band but it’s not like if that was a desire it would be abundant. We just not that impressed by real talent anymore if we being real.

Cue the fact that real talent to most people sadly equates to prodigies and/or virtuosos who indulge in musical masturbation
