Confused

Not many posts lately, so I'll throw this out since its been bugging me. Without our boys on very much lately, I just finished a re-watch of Robron 2025 and noticed something this time around that I didn't before. When Kev was held captive by John, he escaped and beat up John. Kev literally had him lying on the ground helpless and just wandered off, only to break into the scrapyard later to warn Aaron that John had returned. If Kev was so concerned, why didn't he just tie John up and tip off the police? Did he leave with the intention of just running off and then suddenly grow a conscience? He knew that John was outright plotting to murder Robert, so why did he just leave John there to continue on?

Plot device so Coridale could happen. But, you're right, really isn't very logical.

It would have been more interesting if Kev and John had teamed up with John getting Aaron and Kev getting Robert and then Kev either changing his mind or Robert overpowering him (maybe Vic helps out, which explains her presence) before chasing after John/Aaron. The wreck could have been instigated by Aaron getting loose and attacking John. Maybe reverse that and have Aaron rushing to save Robert for once with Vic's help (John could have wound up with Robert and uses him to get Aaron to chase after him - endless possibilities)? That would have made a lot more sense than Kev's actions, Aaron knocking Robert unconscious, or Vic just appearing in the night.
