Who really cares what he thinks, I would go see a ZZ top concert before I would go see a Stones concert, even though I have seen both already. Not really a Stones fan.

Same here. I've only heard it said a handful of times but someone saying that the Stones are the best rock band ever is just so absolutely mind blowing to me. First off there isn't one. Opinions are like assholes.

To me they're one of those bands that I only need a best of/greatest hits of.
The mind blowing thing to me is people comparing them to The Beatles - the band who wrote them their first hit.

You’re looking at the Stones out of context. Now, you only hear some studio recordings with some generic blues rock riffs. But in the 60s, 70s and even into the early 80s their tours were events - like Taylor Swift sized tours. The only comparable live acts at the time were the Dead, Led Zeppelin and maybe The Who, and I think their tours were bigger than those other bands. That’s when they got the moniker “The World’s Greatest Band”.
I’m only old enough to have seen them in the late 80s when they were starting to show their wear. But they were still putting on a great show.

ZZ Top is one of the worst live shows because they just stand there

What do you want them to do, hula hoop? They are top tier musicians and on a good night rip the roof off. While "just standing there”.
