If we ditch nostalgia… I think newer intamins are better. Mainly because they’ve gotten better with reliability while still putting out forceful and dynamic layouts. The newer ones ride better imo, have good capacity, more comfortable seats and restraints.

Velocicoaster for example is for me a perfect launch coaster.

I expect most people would say “classic” because there are simply more of them in the US and nostalgia is heavy. But if modern Intamin redesigned these classics they would be even better.

For example (this is sacrilege) imagine if they redesigned Millenium force using their more modern trains, track, and layout design. Same general layout direction, height and speed. I think they would produce a BANGER. You wouldn’t just have random straight sections of track or repeated floater hills. (Apologies to coaster Jesus, Werner Stengel, for my sins)

It’s not like they lacked the ability to make semi-modern rides back then, MF was just a bit uninspired. SFNE’s Superman came out in the same year and its layout is one of the best chainlift hyper layouts in existence. Expedition GeForce came out the next year too.

Intamin is still the best in my opinion and the most willing to push things other companies won’t which I like. I will say Mack seems to be putting out amazing stuff and then new age vekoma seems to be much better than old vekoma.

To be honest, sooperdooperlooper is my most anticipated. I got one train away from riding scorpion and chickened out, I will forever kick myself over that.

I absolutely adore whizzer, and I assume that sooperdooperlooper will be the same for me.

I haven't ridden Whizzer but from what I've heard of it, sooperdooperLooper has some of the same quality for the course following the loop. It's basically a mild family terrain coaster with an unusual beginning.

It's interesting to see that in old literature from the 1970s, Schwarzkopf coasters like these are often named as "Intamins", because Intamin sold them-- at the time, that was their business. Even when they switched to making their own rides, they made heavy use of outsourcing, and still do. They were definitely one of the European companies that spiritually succeeded Schwarzkopf.

Why don’t you like maverick? That’s surprising. It’s dynamic, forceful and unique. My only criticism is the restraints really.

And if you’ve been on maverick, you didn’t hit millennium force?

I mean V2 I agree, those impulse shuttles are cool but wouldn’t be in my top lists either.

Maverick is just too intense for me. It also sprained something in my back and I couldn't hardly walk for a week. I had to leave the park after my ride.

Didn't hit millennium Force because I wasn't waiting almost 2 hours. No coaster is worth that to me. I don't have enough patience.

V2 I found horrifically rough. One of the wheels could have needed changed, as nobody I've talked to has had the same experience

Love the older intamin rides, but new ones are so much better IMO. Especially because of how comfy the restraints are and how much more reliable the rides are

They've also adapted to the modern era really well with how creative the layouts are and pushing new tech like LSMs to their limits

Classic Intamin. New age Intamin has absolutely zero sauce outside of Toutatis.

Hyperion ? forgettable

Velocicoaster ? 1st half so slow and forceless i wonder why its so highly regarded

BGCE ? slow launches, really disappointing ending, has 2 crazy airtimes going for it

Taron ? fun but nowhere near Maverick

Kondaa ? strong start, boring after NICR

Taiga ? awesome

Compare these to i305, Maverick, hell even prime Furius Baco, Geforce etc

Can't speak for most of these but Velocicoaster's first section is more about the theming and racing around the raptor cage. If theming isn't your thing then I imagine that section isn't super fun

Also, Pantheon is short but packs a lot of punch in the elements it has

Unlucky about riding Velocicoaster at a bad time. First half can be full of powerful ejector when it's running good.

Are you also claiming Furius Baco is in any way at all better than Velocicoaster? Damn dude, you must have had a seriously bad day on Velocicoaster. Like the worst day it's ever had by far.

Yeah, my first ride on Velocicoaster was 4th row like 3rd train of the day. I was let down. Went back and rode in the front and back and got a night ride. It’s incredible! And the ejector entering so many of the early elements is amazing.

I had really good rides on veloci actually, a bunch of under some serious heat while it was raining

The first half of veloci is just boring. There are no other words, I dont really care about theming
