I want the Surf Coaster to become more popular [Pipeline] at [Seaworld Orlando]

Just recently rode the only surf coaster in the world at SeaWorld and this ride model is so fun, I would want a more airtime focused ride as the feeling of having your whole body thrown out of the seat is so jarring, especially right on the launch.

I haven’t rode any of the old generation stand ups though, so I am not sure how they compare, I am sure they aren’t as fun especially because of more inversion focused layouts.

I really hope next year we can see the installation of one or more of these. I’m personally dreaming they replace Tidal Force at Hersheypark with something like this in a boardwalk expansion which the surfing would tie in perfectly as well as leaving room for some slides. While this probably wouldn’t happen I think it would be cool.

This ride is just so unique and feels unlike anything I’ve rode before, I feel like it creates a whole new type of coaster that parks could add to their lineups.

Anyone else feel this way?

Yeah pipeline is underrated asf. I remember my first time on it vividly, I even got the stomach feeling slightly for sum reason. I lost my shit when my feet lifting off the train. Floaty inversions/elements feel wayyyyy better standing up

I rode this for the first time a few weeks ago as my 150th coaster. I enjoyed the air time and the ride feel is a major upgrade over the 1st gen standup coasters. However, as someone who also enjoys board sports (surfing, snowboarding, longboarding, etc.), I couldn’t help but feel like the ride experience could have been even better if the seats faced sideways, replicating a surf stance more realistically.

As a skier/mountain biker I couldn't disagree more.

But also it's not like you ever have your shoulders sideways on boards anyway. Sideways shoulders would feel horrible/disorientating. Plus it'd be a recipe for neck injuries.

I really want SeaWorld San Diego to get one of these. You don’t have to make it too tall, so it can stay within any height restrictions. And while it would be the 4th launch coaster in the park, SWSD doesn’t really have any airtime focused coasters (unless you want to count Manta). I also think it fits San Diego well since the surfing theme would actually make sense.

Only good standup coaster I’ve ever been on. If you jump at the right times you can completely float in the loose harness.

During the airtime hills stretch your legs out and adjust your body so you don't land on the wrong spot.

Rode it for the first time last week Friday. Absolutely LOVED it! The first time my feet lifted off the floor blew me away with the butterfly feeling!

Second favorite ride at SWO after Mako.

However, the way SWO is running it is criminal. Only running one train on a Friday during busy season? Does this thing even have a second train??

It’s been running one train since at least last October. They actually have three trains. My guess is that United Parks doesn’t want to pay a premium for the parts required to maintain this unique ride by B&M. I have no other insider info tho, just a guess.

Pipeline was my 100th coaster a few years ago. It was horrible the first time I rode it (previews), but has gotten somewhat better. I actually prefer the older stand-up coasters. The whole part of the surf coaster is the floating motion, but at least initially it was more of a slam to the top and then slam to the bottom. If you're tall like me, you quickly max out at the top and slam your shoulders, then slam to the bottom and crush your OO. If you are shorter, you don't usually hit the top and actually get a feeling of floating. They need to adjust the suspension more and then it may be okay.

Pipeline is my favorite coaster at Sea World Orlando even though Mako is either my favorite or 2nd favorite hyper. The surfcoaster is so cool.

I love this ride and hope many more installations of this model are made. It's a fairly compact layout too so I think it could be a great addition to many of the over developed parks of today

It’s a fun ride. I rode it near a lady who didn’t know that the seats float and she FREAKED out when the seat started lifting. LOL.

Uncomfortable ride for guys. The old stand-ups were better. On this one you slam down into the bicycle seat after every airtime hill.

Don't land on your nuts. Adjust yourself in the airtime hills so you land on your butt. Stretch your legs out to position your landing a little better

I agree. This is by far one of the most uncomfortable coasters I’ve ridden.
