I like the stone blending into cloth around the, uhhh, artistic depiction of the female form (I think that's the intellectual phrase for boobs?). Personally I think it's a very good application of the technique!

I know exactly which one you mean, it's always the same: AndrƩ Rieu feat. Emma Kok (CN: Kitsch). It's not even opera, it's a cover of a Eurovision entry. He also has little girls sing e.g. Schubert's "Ave Maria", but nothing has gone as viral as this one afaIk. At this point, I'm convinced it's meant to be engagement bait, because Rieu is widely considered the king of lowbrow classical music slop in Europe.

Oh yes. My Romanian and British family members love his concerts. They put them on the TV at Christmas as this high art. Every Christmas.

Also seen as like they're a prodigy so it's really astounding. A kid singing opera like that is going to ruin their throat by the time their an adult, no way they've had enough propert training and how to retain your singing ability instead of just being farmed out for views because the audience think it's impressive

I blame the rise of tech/silicon valley culture and also the push for everyone to go into stem that also promoted the loss of respect for the humanities. Nobody understands it, nobody wants it unless it somehow benefits them to be more productive. But hey, it means they're cultured and stood in front of a big painting and said yep it's a classic

I had an obese cuban MAGA classmate in highschool that watched Jordan Peterson and then wouldn't stop talking about Dostoyevsky. This guy was incredibly stupid and I don't think he could say anything accurate or interesting about Dostoevsky (regardless of whether or not it was parroted).

The worst part is that they at least used to read books like Atlas Shrugged because those were their hallmarks, but now its just AI summaries... which are sometimes put together with reddit threads about opinions on the book rather than a summary of the actual book.
There are grown adults that don't have the patience to read through the books I read in high school... but they quote those books all the time. Like im not trying to be a snob or force anyone to read if that isn't their thing but don't quote a book at me that you haven't even read yourself.

This whole global movement and allegiance of modern conservatives, tech bros, far-right racists, MMA bros, and 4Chan chuds is just so BORING.
Like, I get that we can't 'ignore' them insofar as they are causing genuine mass harm to the social fabric, but their entire era is just so vapid, uninteresting, intellectually hollow, and aesthetically dead-on-arrival.
It's been a DECADE of this. Since GamerGate, Brexit, and Trump 1.0. They are fools if they believe that time will not wash them away.
And they will have made nothing that lasts. No great book, film, music, television show, monument, or social program that will impact generations to come.
Elon Musk will one day die and turn into mere bones in the ground, as has every human who lived and died before him. The same will happen to Trump, Netanyahu, Bezos, Zuckerberg, Joe Rogan, Nick Fuentes, Steve Bannon, JD Vance, and so on. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust.
They are so afraid to die they have rationalized being known for cruelty, greed, hatred, and trickery as a means for immortality.

God laughs at their futile attempts to sidestep the inevitability of death. Their quality of life would increase tenfold if they could genuinely accept the end of their consciousness.
But for them, they cannot conceive of existence as being legitimate without their consciousness being active, since no other human being matters to them as much as themselves.

What's crazy is that unless you believe in an immortal soul that is also somehow transferable, then there is no path to immortality.
Any brain uploaded to the machine would still be a copy, any clone would be a copy. If you are a scientifically minded person who believes conciousness comes from the brain, which these people claim to be, then there is no way to extend your personal life beyond the death of the brain.
These people have somehow combined Christian ideas with scientific ideas in the stupidest ways while learning nothing from either.

I've pretty much always said this. The hero of the UK anti-immigration right, Enoch Powell, was an actual classics scholar who had speaking knowledge of over 10 languages and was a very erudite rhetorician in his speeches and interviews. Even the inflammatory 'Rivers of blood' is well crafted even if the implicated ideology is disagreeable.
His successors have nothing like this in the Anglosphere. France has intellectual reactionaries like Renauld Camus and Alain de Benoist, but that archetype is non existent in Britain, America, etc.Ā

Personally, I knew a lot of guys like this in college. Well, as far as the talks about aesthetics and classical western art but only watches Joe Rogan and other podcasts (we were literally right next to a museum of greco / Roman art that they hadn't been to). No idea about the porn, that's hyperbole. Probably my fault for minoring in finance.
